Link(Id like to start out by saying that youtube goes based off more that just your watch history and videos you engage with. Alongside this they also go over the longevity of your account (how long the account has existed for) and activity of your account.
•Whats changing for viewers and content creators who get marked as minors by youtube’s new automated system?
-If you want to use youtube as a viable source of income well: you’re screwed because as of August 13th you will not be able to make money off of youtube unless you upload your id to prove you aren’t a minor.
-Accounts marked as minors if never appealed with an id will have restrictions set in place for accounts that have already been set as minors in the first place based on their birthday they put into their account. This means you will have the same restrictions as someone who already has a teen youtube account.

LinkIf you don’t feel like clicking it says on the side what i am required as a creator to give in if i want to do the following:
* Appealing Content ID claims
* External links in video descriptions
* Embed live streams
* Create more live streams daily
* Create more Shorts daily
* Test and compare different thumbnails
* Upload more videos daily
* Eligible to apply for monetization
This initially had the requirement of having intermediate youtube features enabled as well as one other thing being a video verification, valid ID, or channel history. When the August 13th updates come in you will now be REQUIRED to give in your ID or a video of yourself in order to do any other thing i have listed above. This means if you are marked as a minor and want to make money off your videos or upload more than once a day or even appeal for content ID claims, you just can’t. You can’t do that anymore unless you give big youtube your personal information.

Link•How did youtube react to people’s widely negative opinions on the ai age verification?
-Poorly.
They reacted really poorly and are only doubling down. They’ve released a Creator Insider video about this stating more information about the age verification system and how it works. TLDR for this segment of the video basically they want your ID, video identification, or your credit card for some reason ???
Here’s the video if you wanna watch: https://youtu.be/5NVpZjx5mA8
-In the video i’d like to pull a word for word transcription of what the representative in the video stated. She said quote, “Youtube does not retain data from their ID or payment card for the purposes of advertising.”

LinkWell then what’re you holding it for?? Isn’t it very funny how they said “for the purposes of advertising” and not at all. Which means they will be keeping your personal information with them. This could be poor wording but something like this i feel like is definitely intentional and they knew what they were doing. Even if this info isn’t going to advertisers we have no clue what they’d be doing with it regardless and that’s honestly suspicious no?
Once again please do not use any sort of fake or inaccurate identification if you even choose to appeal the claim at all if your account is suspected to be a minor account. I will say this again do NOT use fake identification or information that doesn’t belong to yourself. I’d rather you not submit anything at all than to risk legal trouble.

Link•I’m not in America, why does this matter to me?
If you aren’t in america i believe these things don’t apply to you and this ai verification will only roll out to users in the US or possibly with US VPNs.
Even if this doesn’t impact you this is still likely going to become a problem for you if this goes through on youtube with no consequences or strong backlash. With more countries now beginning to create laws against online platforms in the name of “protecting the kids” your country could be next. The UK Online Safety Act went through there and is still in effect i believe, they will NOT back down. This could end up affecting your area eventually and i just act that you spread awareness about things going on even if you don’t have all the information i do just ask that you at least tell people what’s happening so more people know what’s going on.

LinkStay safe out there guys and never give up your personal information just cause some websites want you to. I know things are going to get harder and honestly living is beginning to get even scarier as US right leaning politics especially creeps its way into other countries own lawmaking decisions slowly but surely but please make sure you protect yourself and be careful on the internet. <3

Linktldr: you lose access to multiple youtube features as a creator and as a viewer your account will have the same restrictions as a teen youtube account, youtube is holding your personal info if you choose to give it to them august 13th
No bc I tried to put a die of death 12 minuets recording and I had to verify my phone number but my phone is off🥀, I haven't got hit with the age verify yet but I hope I don't. I,
Bc this shit sucks so much. Imagine if I cant wacth orb anymore because they decided her art is under the age of 18 and she jut turned 17 a few days ago 😭😭
the age verification thing rolls out to users based in the us on august 13th so not yet
also i don’t know who that is but even if they were to be marked as under 18 by youtube’s ai this doesn’t mean they can no longer post it would only mean their posting abilities are limited and they may not be able to produce as much content as they might’ve before
I saw a video where someone went through a chunk of comments from a video YouTube posted about their system, and let's just ignore the fact that a lot of people who stated problems with bots were straight up ignored. Also can't forget the responses YouTube gives that seems oddly repetitive, kinda like ai....hmmm
But also forcing creators to provide ID in order to profit under their content is sadly probably aimed towards stopping teen creators from making money. They love to control and limit us don't they 💔
(Also hi we haven't spoken in a hot minute)
yeah this site really sucks when it comes to drawing but i feel it challenges me when i decide to use it maybe thats just me cause i lowkey got too comfortable on ibis with their features heh gotta draw here every once in a while as a reminder of roots
but yeah this site could really use a rework it sucks as an art platform
