I don't know what the hell to call it, or if it should be a flipanim au, but here's what I got so far: There's an epidemic spreading. Hunger. Lots and lots of it. About 50% of the population doesn't have enough food. Around most of the cities with starving families and farms in them, there's been a rumor going around. The rumor is that some people that have been starved for a while have been going missing, and there have been numerous reports of food being stolen from homes and stores, and occasionally people being found dead from being mauled by a strange creature. Nobody knows why this is happening, but scientists have speculated that this is either an illness or a parasite. They might not be correct, but for now they've called it "the beast's marking". Why? Because from what they've found, the people that have been mauled have a marking on their neck that looks like a wolf's scratch. people that have been starved a lot also have this marking, but with a wolf's paw next to it.
