LinkI don’t like when people use other peoples’ files as their profile picture. Say for example, Katsudeku posts one of her beautiful files with a base, and someone else just kinda... shits on it by using it, I have no problem if the title is “credit to Katsudeku” or something like that but if the title is “my pfp” and there’s no credit in the comments to her, and then they set it as their pfp, there’s really a problem. Especially if (on occasion) the artist ASKS you to credit them.

LinkBoii we had an issue with that recently where someone was taking files and not crediting and we (I) call that art stealing because it is! It's stealing someone's art, drawing over it, and saying you drew it. You might not actively say you drew it but it's still a jerk move to basically steal art...

LinkIt’s quite literally art theft. You can spot it by seeing a really nicely-drawn base, then shittily-drawn features.

LinkThe katsudeku one is one of the most obvious
Especially when the base has clean linework and the drawing over it either has features with a thicker line (because kiddos here think that drawing with the second largest size is fine then don't know how to add detail gee I wonder why) or the features look sketchy as heck
It just kinda... Looks bad. both literally and figuratively.

LinkYeah, I got an example, but even though they credited and it’s not extremely horrible, the colouring is kinda... meh. In comparison to the lines done by Katsudeku.

LinkAnd um. This.
man that does get annoying :< i'm totally fine with people doing this stuff bc they're probably kids and dont know better but if they dont put creds AND make it their pfp thats v disrespectful to the artist.. i mean if you like the base and want to use it that's oki but if you make it your pfp *inhale* not cool. i don't understand why people even need to ask for others to credit their work if they're using it, if you're taking someone's art and trying to put your own creativity into it it just goes without saying that the original artist needs to be credited. but what can i say, its the inTerNet
