Okay so Number one: I do not base my designs off of other peoples art, unless it was a request or something. If my designs seem close to one of yours, complete coincidence. Often times for ocs I pick a random color and use complimentary colors with it to design an oc. Well one time the color was cyan, and someone brought up the point that they had drawn something weeks before that looks relatively close, except my design was more complex. First if all, the oc was made before I was even on flip, and I don't even look into past anims unless i need to find something specific. Second of all, just because it looks close does not mean I'm plagiarizing

Second if you have a design of two commonly used colors or based on a common well know symbol, please do not be mad at other people also using those colors or symbol. Due to personal stuff in the past not related to Flipanim, I love the Yin Yang and tend to make or want plenty of stuff based on it. This does not mean I'll get mad If I see someone else using ocs based on it, to be honest, I'd probably be really happy and love the ocs, not see it as plagirism.

Third If I bring in an old oc, and you think it looks too close to a newer oc, that's not plagirism if your oc didn't even exist when I made my oc. All of these have been complaints to me on multiple occasions, I will not name anyone

ok yeah i used to be like this it was mostly because i was, and still kind of am, really paranoid about people stealing from me. i have been stolen from a lot in the past, on a few occasions several times in a week or even a day, which is kind of a reason but it's not an excuse and doing this can be. scummy the whole "made before posted on flip" thing can be really iffy but that doesn't mean that it's not true, but usually it just comes down to the situation

if it helps anyone, try looking into the person's past if they've stolen in the past they're more likely to the more recent it is. looking into whether they follow/know said person they might be stealing from, how small the artist is (smaller artists tend to be stolen from/tend to steal more but this is usually only from the smarter thieves and cannot be applied everywhere) and how young the thief is really helps

Thats a pretty good idea to check if they've stolen before actually, though sometimes thefts are just misunderstandings or one person being too suspicious of the other also yeah, you're right about the whold 'made before posted' thing being iffy, and sorry for that

i don't really believe you can plagiarize a design, like say someone took a husky design and changed it up a little to make it look unique and someone comes along and likes it so they use it with different colors and add stripes. You can't call them out for that, can you? To me its like yelling at a younger lemur that it stole the design of a older lemur but then again I don't really understand these things.
