October 6, 1934 5 people were chosen for it. All were people who had been in prisoned for a crime they had done. A doctor named Dr. Koi was chosen for it. Little did they know, it would in a horrible ending.

The scientists wanted to see how long a person could go without sleep. They placed the 5 men in a sheltered area. They supplied the men with the following: a months worth of food, a cot with no bedding, a toilet, and a sink with a mirror. They had no cameras so they also left a speaker to record what happened and send it back to the scientist.

5 days past. Dr. Koi and his assistant listened to see what was happening. To his horror, he heard blood-curdling screaming. Footsteps and whispering, clanging on the walls. This went on for 3 whole hours. And eventually, with went silent.

He instantly called the authorities and they sent in professional trained army men to look around. When they entered, they gagged and looked away at the sight. One body was dead, their lungs torn outing blood pooled on the floor. The other men had chunks of flesh torn out of their legs and body, guts spilling out. They were all rushed towards the hospital. When the nurse tried to place a sleep mask on one of the men, he violently threw it across the room, shaking his head and saying that he didn't need it. They practically had to hold him down to get it on. Finally he fell asleep, and the nurse continued with the surgery.

But the other ones did't want it at all. One of the doctors asked him if he would be ok if they didn't us the sleep mask. He nodded. So, they continued with the surgery and when the nurse looked up halfway into it, their face was smiling gleefully as if he was enjoying the pain. She quickly looked away and continued.

After the surgery was done, they checked the brain waves of the men. They were astonished about what they found. Every minute or two, the brain waves would just stop completely as if the brain was shutting down and re-starting up again. When Dr. Koi asked why they gutted themselves, why they killed the other man, WHY they ripped chunks of flesh out of their humans, he was answered by this: "We are the madness that you refuse to let out. Deep down, we are all the same. Mad. Chaotic. A thirst for blood is more powerful then you can imagine. We just need something to make us be like this. Something like freedom. Freedom from this junk yard of a planet. We want more. More terror. We are all mad," he continued, "Because we are all human beings."
