I dislike it when people say Tsunami without pronouncing the T, I know that many English speakers were taught to say it that way.

The word originates from Japanese, so thats why I don't like it when people say it as SUnami and not TSUnami

its pronounced t (silent variable t) sunami, SU = つ TSU = ツ either or its used the same, its a compound to tsunami. 地震 = jinshin and 津波 = shinami are original kanji compounds that are used to make out the hiragana and katakana.

either way its pronounced sunami because the t is silent LOL
