You see, the term mary sue or gary stue isnt always as true as implied. As i remember it was originally called a powerplayer in online video games. A "mary sue" is a term labeled on cringe sues or parody sues. the ones people make to make fun of them with all the rainbows and the out of proportion bodies. That isnt a true mary sue. a character can look perfect and not be a mary sue. A real mary sue can look ordinary and be hard to spot. Mary sues are characters of which guys fight over and the story somehow goes their way all the time. I know im gonna get a lot of hate over this but a good example is bella swan from twighlight.
Characters with no personality flaws. I've actually never seen a non troll "look" Mary Sue. Mostly just few to no personality flaws are all personality flaws, and that is Mary Sues. Tada!
another trait of an actual mary sue is they are usually the strongest characters in a roleplay or story. they have many unusual and unique powers. this isnt something that always happens but it is quite common. lets say a human mary sue trying to take down a huge and strong being like a dragon with bare fists. the mary sue would usually win in a story. A common trait i see in games like animal jam with mary sue/gary stue roleplayers is they often come back to life as angels and gain immortality and kill off the other character.
oh yea as pomegranate said yea. mary sues also almost never have flaws and if i might add, if they do have flaws it also turns into a positive somehow. lets say a character is clumsy. they trip and fall into some "hot" character and drop all their books. the H.C helps them out and they fall in love tada. the flaw isnt an actual flaw

Mallory passes as a good oc. she is relatatable and acts like a normal human being.
Mikey has a 1 on the G.S scale because of the inhuman purple eye but i dont really know his story or anything so point taken back.

Mikeys got dat weird eye cause someone made an outbreak of a disease and he caught it.
He's an adopted character, so dats where the black part of the eye comes from.
