Uhmmmm...... Wait. I might have an idea. What if meta knight had unrequited love for Kirby (basically he hadn't told the smol pink boi yet, probably also because he doesn't want penguin boi to know and get angry cause it's flippin kirby) for a while, but one day he got hanahaki disease because of it, and as the hanahaki took it's toll, Kirby slowly starts to notice and get worried about meta knight, so he tries to help or think of a way to, but he doesn't know how. meta knight gets weaker and closer to dying as it gets worse, but unless he confesses his love, he won't survive.

(Not every hanahaki story. Sometimes it's one sided love, but I thought unrequited love would be fitting since its kirb. uwu) y e e
