soul-screechers are a rare species found in the 'third world' (a story i'm developing) they are owl-like soul eaters. they can survive on other food too but they need to eat souls to actually mature. they are shapeshifters. usually transforming into a certain species to blend in before they eat their souls. however their blue coloring and their comically giant claw always stays intact no matter what. soul-screechers have a stinger on the end of their tails, that simply render a victim unconscious. to make it easier to consume their souls.
