It’s like white supremacists stealing symbols from other cultures, tangentially related, these things were not associated until ppl started posting about it and it is immediately obvious to ppl not related to see if that person is a Nazi or predator by the many other actions and choices they make

I’m not sure it rlly does mean that online either tho I think it’s just to a specific subset that aren’t really large, giving that “awareness” can be more harmful than good in these cases cause ur allowing them to take a term alresdy in use for masking their pedophilia whicj feels more dangerous than just calling out individuals themsekves for being predators
