Actually nah I change my mind. His dad made him sit in the chair that gave him powers. His dad wouldn't give him powers on purpose when he was trying to fight him. Maybe his dad was going ez on him or smth and he didn't kill Jonathan's mom. It was probably an accident.

I hope he's right... because he literally killed his dad.
