Try something new like: animating backgrounds animate rotating characters which also involve rotating backgrounds have an animation battle/contest with someone work really hard on an animation and put as much effort into it, even if it`s a few seconds long get inspiration from other animes/animations online etc There are ways to make it interesting, just try to deviate from your comfort zone. Good luck!

I`d recommend Clip Studio, its very good and I animate + draw on that. For post-production I'd recommend After Effects tho
