Chapter 12 You Truly Are Your Fathers Daughter “Midoriya?” I asked as we hit the crosswalk button to go across the busy street. “Hmm?” He replied. “Do you have any money I can borrow?” I asked him tilting my head watching him look through his wallet. “Yeah I have 2,500¥” he said, pulling it out. “Can I borrow it? I will pay it back sometime this week” I asked him, biting my nail. “Uh, sure. I guess you can borrow it” he said as I grabbed it from his hand. “The pawn shop is a good place to start” I said running towards the doors of the shop. “My father used to take me here all of the time, we would look at the different types of swords, sieth, axes, guns, collectibles and explodibles” I said, remembering the hours we spent looking at the collectible weapons.

“Why do we need to come here? I thought we were going to go train” Bakugou asked as he eyed up the 2,500¥ in my hand. “Well I can't fully control my quirk yet and I don’t want to hurt you guys so it would be best for me to learn how to use a capture tool or a weapon” I said pushing the shadowy pawn shop doors wide open. “Why hello there,” the front desk man welcomed us. “Nebae is that you?” he asked as I looked at him smiling as if giving him an answer yes. “Hey guys, it's Azumane’s kid, she came with U.A. students” He said calling out into the backroom. “Azumane’s kid? No way” I heard an employer say. “Azumane, hmm” I heard a man say as he walked up to me standing right in front of me. This man was huge, he had a large strong body and was like 36 centimeters taller than me. I looked up into his eyes and tilted my head.

“And who might you be?” I asked, looking him in the eyes. “The name is Tetsuki Tetsutetsu, my son goes to U.A. but he is in class 1-B”. How did an Azumane pipsqueak like you surpass him?” He bellowed as I looked down in deep thought trying to remember the name Tetsutetsu to figure out who he was talking about. “You mean that metal kid who kinda looks like Eijirou Kirishima?” I asked looking into his eyes again. “The kid who looks like Eijirou Kirishima? You mean my son looks like that red headed jerk?” He boasted trying to make me seem scared, but I just stood there completely calm staring at him like he was some idiot. I glanced over and saw Midoriya step back, “was he really scared? What a loser” I thought to myself.

“Anyway, Mr. Tetsutetsu,” I started out looking around in the shop. “I have a strong quirk, but can only use it when I come in contact with a living thing, so I thought that I should get a capture tool or a weapon so that I wouldn’t be useless” I said looking around again then into his eyes. “So what's the problem? You probably know more about these weapons than I do from the past years you have been here, why are you asking me?” He asked me, glaring at me. “The problem is, I am not sure which one would suit me better” I made fish lips and put my pointer finger on my chin. “Well do you do your best and try to capture then attack or just go head on and attack?” he asked with a stern face then looked at Bakugou and Midoriya.

“For example Bakugou here, likes to go head on into the action and attacks from any distance, he uses a weapon. Midoriya on the other hand uses his quirk as a capture tool and uses his quirk to lewer his enemy or target into the death trap” he said explaining about Bakugou then about Midoriya. “You need to touch the people in order to use your quirk right? So I would get a capture tool to lewer them into your death trap” he said glaring at me, as I stared at him in the eyes. “Okay, thank you very much,” I said smiling as he glared at me, then Bakugou, then Midoriya. “I had never described my quirk as a capture tool like that before,” Midoriya said, taking out a new notebook and a pen to write this down. Bakugou looked over his shoulder at Midoriya. “Damn nerd”He grumbled.

“Midoriya, what would be a good capture tool?'' I said looking at the different types of ropes, and guns. “Well umm,” he started out looking around. “What about this piece of machinery?” He asked, picking up a small but simple structure. “That is a rope launcher, you put the brace on your wrist” I said as I tried it on. “Pull the gage, then smash the button on top to fire it and it shoots a thing of spinning rope, trapping the person or wrapping the object” I said, holding out my arm looking at the metal work. “Is it good?” asked Midoriya. “I can build onto it, let's go over to the other side of the store and find a small but nice weapon, and I can tinker around with these gadgets” I said as we walked over to the weapons.

I find Bakugou looking at small but dull but sharp stones. “These are some nice blades,” I said as Bakugou looked down and glared at me. “I can add these to my capture tool” I said as I picked them up.There were two of them and each was 500¥, the capture tool was only 600¥. So all of it together was 1,600¥, which means I can give Midoriya 900¥ back. I walk up to Tetsutetsu with the two small blades and the wristband rope launcher. I hold out the 1,600¥ to him and lay it on the desk. His large beady eyes gaze at the merchandise then at me. “So,” He said looking back down at the stuff on the counter. “You’re going to go with both a capture tool and a weapon?” he asked slowly looking back at me. “I just thought I could tinker with it, I could create something new” I said looking back down at the supplies on the counter.

“You truly are your fathers daughter” he said, taking the money. I looked at him and it made me smile. I could feel my eyes get watery, I could feel tears falling down my face, and I looked up at him and smiled.
