So when I was 16 my mom actually did kys- in a very dramatic fashion too. It doesn't offend me when people say it as joke or to be flippant or even if their target audience is a genuinely shit person.
However, its not flattering to say it. Its very 3edgy5me and personally I can burn the hell out of someone without even cursing, its a skill! My 'friends' in highschool used to tell me KYS "as a joke" and it got old real fast.
