LinkYo yo, haven’t done one of these in a while and the concept for it has been on my mind for a long time, so…
I’m holding a Character Design Contest!!
The objective is to create a personified version of my silly little penguin character Aurora (as seen in the animation above). When I say “personified”, it doesn't necessarily have to be a human; if you want you could turn her into a furry, another animal, robot, etc. as long as it is based on Aurora as if she had turned into that creature. Entries will be judged based on character design skills ONLY, anyone of any art level is encouraged to join. Because of this, don’t worry about creating a fully rendered illustration in hopes that it will boost your chances of winning, focus your energy on the design itself and you’ll be fine.

LinkIf you do want to increase your chances of winning, I would recommend going more in-depth within the design itself (Showing a front and back view, showing different possible outfits, adding different accessories, etc), though don’t get too carried away since the deadline for the contest is very much fixed. A simple entry is 100% more likely to win than a complex one that didn’t get handed in on time.
I encourage you to join even if you think you aren’t going to win; I cherish every piece that gets submitted to my contests whether or not it’s a competition. This is also a great chance to brush up on your character design skills. Plus, there's a participation award, so why not? :)

Create a design based on Aurora and attach it in the comment section below. There is a hard deadline for this on September 1st, any submission entered after that will be null, no exceptions. I will be posting a reminder for the contest every week leading up to the deadline and would suggest that you get your entry done and submitted as soon as possible this month. Judging criteria listed above, prizes below. Redos are allowed as long as they are submitted before the deadline, as well as entering more than one time, though there is only one prize per person (whichever entry scores higher) if you do so. Art can be made in or outside FA, just be sure to link it below. If you have read all the rules and above criteria, comment “🐧” along with your entry for it to be validated.

LinkAlso the silllouette used in the animation above is just a place holder, theres no need to try and base your design off that at all. In fact, the more creative you are with your design the cooler, though if some features happen to line up with the doodle it doesn’t matter either. Just have fun 👍 Also lord thats alot of text I hope I didn't scare anyone off lmao
