LinkArchaes have a ton of lore, so prepare yourselves.
Things to note:
Archaes are not mammals, avians, or reptilians. Rather, they are dragons, and closer to synapsids than any one animal group. More hybridized Archaes give birth to live young, which oftentimes can eat food from birth, however some hybrids with mammals that are more hybrid than archae, they may develop breasts to lactate, and their children will require milk. More pure archaes, which are rare, will produce eggs.
Archaes are ALL one species, they may have 4 breeds, but this is due to isolated populations. Not different species.

LinkI do not care if you sexualize this species, use them for adopts, sell archaes or designs made from this base for money, or anything of the sort. Just do not do illegal shit with my species. Do not fűcking make cp or shit with them. Do not have them fűcking animals just because they look like animals. I may be human but I'm not gonna fűck a monkey just because I kinda look like it.

LinkBreeds:
Aureus-
This breed is seen as the middle ground for archaes, and is often what you get when different breeds of archae are put in one isolated population. Aureus archaes are the most common, and are well rounded in arcane and physical abilities. Aureus archaes have disappeared and resurfaced a couple times in archae history, but they always seem to come back as a result of breed mixing. ~6' 1"

LinkExcalibur-
This breed can easily be seen in crowds with their tall, lanky stature. This breed is home to Svarti, the coldest region of Orgoki. Their fur looks only mildly thick but it is incredibly dense, and in itself works like a natural armor. However, it does cause problems for Excalibur archaes that live in hotter climates, and is incredibly hard to shed when summer arrives. Excalibur archaes excel in their arcane abilities, the top arcane schools on the planet reside in Svarti. Archaes often have narrow eyes, in order to give their eyelashes an easier time catching snow from getting in their eyes. They also have larger noses, to sniff out food under the snow. ~7'2"

LinkEnigma-
These archaes are covered in feathers, to the point where they can use their arms a secondary pair of wings. They can't solely use their arms to fly, but it helps take weight off their wings, making them long distance flyers. They can also glide incredibly well because of this. Enigma archaes are not particularly strong or well versed in arcane abilities, but are incredibly fast. They lend themselves well to hit and run tactics. Enigma archaes are the smallest of the breeds, standing just below human height. Home to Atella, the heart of Orgoki. These archaes are the least common. ~5'6"

LinkQuillion-
Also called "Quill Lions", these archaes are covered in sturdy quills similar in shape to a Lionfish, and do the same job of being a venomous defense mechanism. However, much like a porcupine, these quills can also be ejected to deliver venom that way. Coupled with this, Quillion archaes also have a venomous bite, the venom being in their saliva, rather than fangs like a snake. This is however a rather useless ability considering most archaes in combat situations are required to wear helmets that obscure their mouths. Quillions have very little ability to use arcane, but are the strongest of the 4 breeds, and are built rather bulky. Any archae can be muscular, but Quillion archaes naturally have a low fat content and high metabolism. For this, they are often a first choice for any combat oriented job, whether that's as a soldier, or a security guard. Qullions are home to Hidda, a swampy region of Orgoki that's easily seen as the most dangerous, it's swamps filled with deadly diseases, parasites,

LinkHome planet:
Orgoki, the Archae home planet, is cleaved into several peices. Three main regions known as Hidda, Atella, and Svarti, as well as several small islands. Having been done by their gods during the Celestial War, the even in particular called 'The Cleaving', separated the archaes into three populations for a time. Having been all Aureus archaes, the populations slowly changed with their Dinae into Enigma, Quillion, and Excalibur archaes. Once their kind worked together to build bridges between the continents, known as "The Connection", these populations mixed again, bringing back the Aureus breed. Archaes have a tier 2 technology level, and are significantly more advanced than us, however are only slightly more advanced than the humans of their realm.

LinkTo summarize, the Archaes are governed by two brother gods, Aulorn and Sepitae. Who also have preventative gods of the sun, the moon, the weather, and a messenger, along with several angels to work to protect these gods. However, these angels and secondary gods do not rule over Archaes, and in fact work for them. Sepitae, being the God of life, day, and the sun, had Aulorn's jealousy. Aulorn being the God of death, night, and the moon, he wasn't as praised as Sepitae.

LinkIn his anger, he split Orgoki into 3 as Sepitae was caring for his beloved creations, the Archaes, all of which, at this point, are of the breed Aureus. Aulorn also sent his best warrior, Che'tetae, an archangel, to kill the messenger between the gods and the archaes, Aroviede. Sepitae understood this would happen, and the only way to sate this anger and to not hurt his brother, he knew he had to die. So, after banishing Che'tetae for hurting his messenger, he allowed Aulorn to kill him, which was using Che'tetae's sword, Deres, the only weapon in the pantheon that can kill a god. Before Sepitae died, he cast his and Aulorn's powers to the archaes, so they wouldn't be godless mortals in his absence.

LinkEnraged and powerless, Aulorn left the realm, going off to destroy other worlds to regain his power. This power was divided through these progenitor archaes, and was passed down through their families. So now all archaes have atleast a little arcane ability in them. Once Aulorn came back, ready to deal Orgoki it's final blow, the archaes fought back, two unnamed figures defeating the great dragon. Sepitae is prophecized to return one day, and mend the planet anew. Orgoki will then be a peaceful paradise again. In the mean time, normal archaes that die are sent to Hjrell, to rest beneath Sepitae's wings while they rest. Sometimes for centuries, sometimes for days, and are afterwards reincarnated, sometimes reincarnated into stronger archaes. These stronger archaes are incredibly well versed in arcane, and are born destined to be Orgoki's strongest warriors.

LinkThese archae's soul orbs work as a spirit anchor, and can bring them back after death as long as it remains intact. However, when these archae' orbs shatter, they do not go to Hjrell, and instead disappear completely. This allows new souls to be created.

LinkAbilities:
Archaes have varying levels of arcane ability, some have very little, and in some rare cases, have an extremely high ability to wield arcane. This arcane comes in 9 different elements, which are; Light, dark, fire, water, earth, wind, nature, electric, and ice. No element is better than the others, but some are very similar, and light and dark are less common. The abilities and spells a certain element archae can cast may overlap with another element, but each have spells unique to their element.

LinkSome archaes can rift walk, meaning they can open portals to other realms, or universes. Some can also teleport with their own realm using a similar magic.
All archaes have soul orbs, a crystal that can be retrieved by reaching into one's chest, that holds their soul. These orbs can range in size from about a lemon, to a cantaloupe. Some hybrids may have different shaped soul orbs, but most are spherical. Dragon/archae hybrids are known to have angular soul orbs. Strong archaes may be resurrected on their own, or by another archae through these orbs if they are intact. Archaes often leaving their soul orbs at home with loved ones, so if they die, and they can come back, their soul is protected by who they trust most.

23.04.2022 02:41
LinkNormal archaes that die, and cannot come back, leave a body behind. Strong archaes that can die, whether their orb is shattered or not, do not leave a body, which shatters like glass and fades away when they die.

LinkDinae is something every archae has and means "ever changing" in the now dead language Orgochii. Dinae is a gene in which causes archaes to mutate quickly under stressful circumstances and sometimes go through physical changes in their lives with no real pattern. The most common cases of Dinae are changes in pelt color, or ones' horns growing back differently after breaking. This dinae allows archae's DNA to be incredibly moldable, able to hybrid with most sentient races. Most commonly, humans and vespers(bf's species). More extreme cases of Dinae can stack on eachother in a population, leading to new breeds in what would normally take thousands of years to evolve on their own, may only take 50. However, Dinae may lead to inflictions like cancer or mangled organs. However this is incredibly rare, and archaes have developed cures for these things.

LinkMorphology:
Archaes have hollow bones, and are covered in fur and feathers, fur for the body, and feathers on their wings and sometimes tails and necks. However, some mutations cause a lack of fur, substituted with feathers instead. Archaes have small webbed wings that the feathers anchor to. So if you were to pluck an archae's wings (thats horrible don't do that) they'd have what looks like small dragon wings. Different from a bat's in the manner that they have an elbow digit, whereas bats do not.

Link!!!GORE WARNING! SKIP IF UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THAT!!!
Archaes can be 'rift cleaved', which happens when they are forced through a rift they don't want to go through, or they force someone who doesn't want to go through. This causes 'cleaves' over their body that reflects the colors of the rift in question, and is depicted on their soul orbs. This injury is incredibly dangerous, and can very easily lead to death, as it cannot be sown up. These cuts often cut deep, and may even dismember someone. The only fix for this is cauterizing the flesh around the wound.

LinkSome known archae genes that can appear no matter the breed-
Feather Boa,
A gene that causes a large puff of feathers along the neck and tail of the Archae, looking a lot like a feather boa. These boas can be a puff at the bottom of their neck, or run the length of it.
Cockatrice,
This causes scales along the feet and hands of the archae, giving them am almost bird like appearance.
LatticedDreams[OP]
23.04.2022 02:42
LinkTwo Tailed Fox,
A common mutation in archaes that can cause a second tail to form. Sometimes this can leave one or both tails immobile, but other times both tails are perfectly prehensile.
Breasts,
Human, awoken, and other humanoid race hybrids with Archaes may have breasts if they're a born female. Archaes born with breasts will almost always have offspring that require milk.
Head Hair,
This often also occurs in humanoid/archae hybrids, causing the hair folicals in their heads, and sometimes their necks, to produce long hair. This hair happens in archaes born male or female. It often correlates with their pelt color, often times an accent color, rather than human hair colors.

23.04.2022 02:42
LinkBasilisk,
A gene that often occurs in vesper and dragon hybrids, but occasionally in pure archaes, causing their wings to have no feathers or very few. These webbed wings are often bigger than they are in normal archaes, to support them in flight. They are often louder when flying because of the lack of dampening feathers.
Leviathan,
A gene that causes keratinous, sail-like fins in some places, usually along the back, back of the jaw, arms, and tail. Most common in archaes whose lineage lived near the water. Leviathan gene archaes likely prefer to be piscivores.
Phoenix,
A gene that causes an archaes fur to be switched with feathers. They look normal from a distance, but as one draws closer, they'll realize something about the texture is wrong. This gene is very rare, and said to have some connection with the gods.

LinkAddendum to the Qullion breed info-
The swampsof Hidda are also full of dangerous animals. Qullion' spines are a venomous counter to predators, and they're immune to the diseases and parasites that roam the swamps. Qullion venom is not lethal, instead being a neurotoxin that makes the injection site feel like it's on fire, and this spreads with the venom. Antivenoms exist and are readily available at any hospital in Orgoki.
