I think you misunderstood the message, so I shall rephrase, and give an example.
the friendzone is made by people who can't see the opposite gender as a friend, and cannot be in any form of relationship with them outside of a romantic one.
For example,
Person 1: hey, I like you a lot. Can we date?
Person 2: No, sorry. I see you more as a brother or a best friend than a partner.
Person 1: Ah, okay.
Person 1 later to their friends: yeah they put me in the friendzone bro! ! 1 ! !
