Val has had a (mostly) normal life until her mother passed away from breast cancer when she turned 12.
Val's father had always been abusive to her because she wasn't exactly a planned baby. When her mother died he got even MORE abusive. She put up with his abuse for years, but on her birthday, her father molested her. She had been so traumatized that she attempted to kill herself. She tried to end it all with a gunshot to the leg.

LinkAfter the suicide attempt, she was rushed to the hospital by a friend. Her friend was going to her house to surprise her with concert tickets, but clearly, things didn't work out.

LinkLuckily, Val survived the bullet to her leg.
A year after she tried to kill herself, her father had molested her once more. She contacted the authorities, having her father arrested. She moved in with her aunt, but she didn't last long there. Her aunt was also getting a bit too handsy with her. After only a month with her aunt, Val ran away. She moved in with a childhood friend for protection. After 3 years of living with her friend, she finally got her own house.
