LinkSo basically Eiko's backstory goes back to when her ancestors, probably her great grandparents or something, were extremely poor and homeless, having a very bad lifestyle. So when they found out that there was a witch-sort-of-person who could help with their problems, Eiko's ancestors go over and ask if that witch-person could help with their struggles. The person(who was actually a demon using his blood demon art)obviously helped them with their problems by giving them a 'gift'. The gift, or curse, was to help them with their lives, but on top of that every woman in their family bloodline from then on had the ability to give any living thing strength, whether that be making someone stronger and healthier, or physically stronger to help get better at certain skills. The woman with this ability wouldn't be able to use their ability on themselves, however. But, because of the demon's blood demon art, there were consequences that the demon didn't tell Eiko's ancestors, or any of their clients in general.

LinkThe consequences that went with their good luck was that, once again, the person with the ability wouldn't be able to use it on themselves, but the person who had this gift would also become extremely anxiety-filled and self-conscious, making them very quiet. On top of this, once the townspeople of Eiko's ancestors' village found out about the good luck and gift they had gotten, a band of people had agreed to hunt the woman in their family down. This was because they knew that, once the person with the gift would die, their power would move on to the nearest person, making them have the same power and side-effects. However, as the years went on, the group didn't disband, and their descendants continued to look for Eiko's family. Ever since Eiko's mother had been hunted and killed by them in their village, Eiko's father had fled to their village's outskirts to make a small farm in a country-like area in order to survive. Eiko always knew why her mother had died, the hunters, the gift, and its side-effects,

Linkbut this was only because she had to know, because in order for the hunters not to find her, she had to wear a unique mask on at all times for them not to recognize her in case she does come across them(because the hunters somehow always find out what her family looks like), as all women in her family had to do before her. Yet, because of the hunters' amazing ability to find her family(and relatives)so easily, Eiko knew from her father that she was the only girl alive with her gift. The way her father possibly knew this was because his and his wife's family tree wasn't that long, therefore he knew that most of the relatives he had still kept in touch with had either past away, or murdered by demons. However, because Eiko's family had to live out in the country, next to the literal woods, her father always warned her about demons at night, so he was always extremely protective. Because of this, Eiko had never been allowed to go to their nearest village(the one a mile 1/2 away from them that they lived in

Linkbefore her mother got killed), making Eiko home schooled and never having a real friend. This made her shyness and anxiety a lot worse. You may be wondering: why couldn't she just go to the village with her mask on? This was because, when Eiko's mother was murdered by the hunters, her father was extremely worried that they had found out how the women in her family had to wear their own mask to hide from them, since they only were allowed to take it off if they absolutely needed to. Therefore, even if Eiko went to the village with or without her mask, she'd be risking her life. Now living with her father, older brother(19 years old), and two younger twin brothers(both 10 years old) at 12 years old, Eiko knew that the world was too dangerous, but that made her even more curious. You'd have to understand that, even though she was extremely shy and self-conscious, that wasn't Eiko's real traits, it was the curse's. This caused her inner character to spark from time to time. An adventurous, bright younger girl.

LinkEven when she had to keep her mask on basically 24/7, she still broke the rules a bit sometimes to get a breath of fresh air, or when she secretly would sneak away after chores to explore some of the forest with her mask off when she had the time, making herself free from all the struggles her family has always had. Yet, one day, Eiko had decided it was time to have a little freedom for herself, and had persuaded to let her younger brothers lead her into the village for the first time. Since Eiko's brothers were a lot closer in age to her, they were closer than she was with Eiko's older brother. Knowing that her older brother had been in the village many times before, he'd be of better help, but she also knew he'd be extremely against her letting her go there. However, her younger brothers have been there as well, just not as much. And, so, the afternoon they were to sneak out to the village after chores, having a couple hours to spare, Eiko and her brothers had traveled there, being careful of staying

Linkin the sunlight, cautious that demons may appear in the forest they had to travel through to get there. Since Eiko's brothers were younger, and would be more susceptible to having their energy wasted from walking through the large, expanded village, Eiko had used her gift to give them extra strength so they wouldn't be worn out by the time they'd get back home for dinner(which was usually around 7-8 because of how much work they have to do), making it obvious they had been somewhere. Eiko was careful not to give them too much energy, since however much energy she gives, it takes away her energy, too. If she ever were to give away too much energy or strength, she'd pass out, eventually falling asleep until restoring that amount of power. This would happen, for example, if she'd use her power to restore someone's consciousness, which has obviously never happened to her before. This, of course, is another consequence to having her ability. While exploring the village, Eiko decided to leave her mask off, since

Linkit would make her stick out a lot more easily than if she had it on. However, just being there made her extremely alarmed and anxiety-filled, but she just let it go because Eiko knew it was just the curse trying to mess with her. However, after an hour or two had passed, and the sun was setting, she could definitely tell that people had been staring at her the whole time. Now, keep in mind, since this village was big, but not city-big, people didn't really know about demons, of course, so there would still be people walking out at night. But because nobody had ever recognized her before(and possibly because of her nice looks uvu), people kept staring as Eiko would walk through the streets, just trying to have a good time with her brothers. It got so bad to the point where she couldn't ignore it anymore, and started hyperventilating out of panic. With her brothers alarmed, and realizing that it was getting dark soon very fast, they ran through the village, onto the pathway, and back home. Even though their

Linkhouse lights where on, Eiko and her brothers could tell something was off. After Eiko calmed down, they ran through their large field to their house before their father would come out to tell them dinner was ready. That was when they heard a large crash come from inside. Eiko's brothers started to panic, but Eiko knew what was happening. A demon had invaded their home while they were gone. You see, it may be a coincidence, but what really happened was, when Eiko's older brother came outside to check on them, expecting them to be playing out in the field, they were completely gone, so he went to alarm Eiko's father. Searching around for almost an hour, this is when they didn't realize it was dark enough to demons to be able to come out, so when they were outside, trying to call Eiko and her brothers out, they were just live bait, letting themselves get hunted by a demon, and that demon eventually exploring inside their house for more humans to murder. Horrified about what must've happened, Eiko's true

Linkcharacter immediately showed, calming down her brothers, and getting the closest weapon she could find, yet knowing it would do them no good. She didn't know if her brother and father were alive, but it was very likely. As if the demon could smell them coming, it came out from the back of the house. The were a few yards away, but there was no other place to run to. It was already too dark. With a pitchfork in hand, and her brothers hiding behind her, she just stood, protecting the remainder of her family. As the demon came for them at full force, something quick yet smooth came swiftly across the demon, making it fall in mid-air after trying to pounce Eiko and her brothers. After realizing that the demon's head was cut, she looked at the thing, or person, that was making it slowly turn into ash. Eiko questioned the stranger, who explained to them that he was a demon slayer, saving as many people as possible from demons, who ate humans, and take away many lives. Eiko knew this was what she wanted to be.

LinkShe asked him if she could be a demon slayer, with her brothers quickly trying to persuade her not to, since they didn't want to lose more family. The demon slayer just told her that he wouldn't know if she had potential in the first place, so why even try. Ignoring the fact that he was so cold to her so quickly, Eiko used all her strength from working at her family's little farm to throw the pitchfork she still had in hand, chucking it at a nearby tree, causing it to shake because of how hard it struck. With the demon slayer's face almost completely covered by the night's darkness, he went completely silent, but she knew that Eiko changed his mind. The demon slayer agreed she had what it took, even after what he had said before, but warned her that it would still take more than throwing a pitchfork to become a demon slayer. He then told her that he had a trainer, a former 'wind hashira', that had trained him to get through final selection, and eventually become a demon hunter. As Eiko was told the route

Linkit took to get to the demon slayer's old trainer, Eiko's brothers were intent on becoming demon slayers, too. They refused to be separated that easily. The demon slayer just laughed a bit and told them that if their sister had that much spirit in her, they did, too. And, so, after getting to Eiko and her brother's trainer, the retired demon slayer gave them some extremely heavy training. She had given them a difficult time which is why it took Eiko 2 full years to finally be ready for final selection. Eiko's brothers were faster learners, but they refused to go to final selection before Eiko, and instead trained more alongside her until she was ready. Finally surviving final selection, Eiko was officially a demon slayer, having her own sword, crow, and uniform, along with being breath of wind, along with her younger twin brothers. Afterwards, Eiko and her brothers were always assigned missions together, until one day when they were on separate missions for the first time. Eiko hadn't parted ways from

Linkher brothers since her father and older brother's deaths, but she had a feeling she was being separated for a reason. Being twins, her younger brothers were always on the same missions, no matter what, but at least they had each other to keep themselves company. Eiko agreed to meet back with them at their old village after their missions. However, if something were to go wrong to where she couldn't make it back in time, Eiko knew she'd send a letter to them as soon as possible. After finally arriving on the mountain her mission was at, she realized that only Eiko and another demon slayer was called. After slowly getting to know her(since Eiko has barely ever socialized to people outside of her family before), she found out her name was Shizue Kasumi, a breath of mist. They both planned out how they'd ambush the demons living on the mountain. There were apparently three in total, at least that's what Shizue had told her, since she got there a few minutes before. They all lived together in an abandoned barn,

Linkwhich was strange, considering demon's instincts were to stay away from each other, claiming their own territory, so it seemed like this was a rare case. After surprise-attacking the demons living there, Shizue and Eiko had the weirdest suspicion that one of them was actually trying to help them behind the other two's backs. They found this to be true after realizing that one of the demons was actually trying to hold them down for Shizue and Eiko to cut off their heads. After they each cut a demon's head, and practically getting beaten to death, the demon who had helped them was named Murasaki, and she explained to them how she had become a demon a 10-15 years ago. Ever since succumbing to becoming a demon by a lower moon, along with her other two comrades who had survived(unlike the other four), she had somehow fought off the urge to eat a single human since. She told them how she became a demon slayer because she had lost her younger brother to a demon, the only family she had left after being abandoned

Linkby her father, who did this to resist his urges to abuse them after their mother died, since they reminded him of his wife. Murasaki begged for them to bring her along, promising that she'd be of help along the way, and would keep resisting her demon hunger. Shizue explained that we'd have to have something to carry Murasaki in to keep her away from the daylight. And, even so, Shizue and Eiko weren't a team in the first place. Murasaki told them she had plenty of baskets in the barn, but before Shizue could respond, Eiko and Shizue's crows yelled for them to get shelter to heal. After an hour or so of getting to a family home, where they assisted and healed Eiko, Shizue, and Murasaki very well(Murasaki just looked like a demon slayer to the family because of the eye patch covering her most noticeable demon markings, and the fact that she looked very human, anyway). Eiko remembered to send a letter to her brothers, telling them everything that just happened, and that she'd probably meet them later than

Linkexpected. While Eiko and Shizue healed, after being beat down by the pretty strong demons they had just faced moments earlier, all three of them agreed that they'd become a team from then on. Eiko kindly asked the family if they had a spare basket, which they did, luckily. Murasaki told them how she could shrink, but only a bit(not as much as Nezuko can, since she can shrink and grow, whilst Murasaki can't). The basket fit her perfectly, anyway. Shizue told them her story, and why she became a demon slayer after her brother had gotten killed by a demon while trying to get medicine for her when she was sick, and her father, whom she wasn't on the best terms with, was living alone back at home, but she'd send him letters every now and then. After Eiko and Shizue's severe injuries successfully healed, Eiko explained her story, and how she needed to meet her brothers. Once she arrived with Shizue and Murasaki(who was in the basket that Shizue was carrying), Eiko told her younger siblings how she probably wasn't

Linkgoing to be able to meet them as often anymore, since she had a group of her own that she went on separate missions with. However, she'd still send letters, and would be able to meet every once in a while. The twins understood, since they knew that being a demon slayer also meant not being able to see the ones they loved as much. Shizue knew what that felt. After Eiko and her brothers separated each other once again, Eiko, Shizue, and Murasaki left the village, ready to go on their next mission together.
aaa sorry for the book pff
im also really really sorry for the few typos in the writing
i only realized it 2-3 times after sending the comment, but i couldnt go back and fix it because i was already too far ahead, so i guess itll forever be there :'D
hope u like her backstory im actually really proud about how i came up with it B)
oh yea btw Shizue is @BLUBERRYSANS2's demon slayer oc, while Murasaki is @chrysalxsm's oc
we all agreed to be partners together in our demon slayer dimension thing so im glad Eiko isn't lonely uvu
also we did talk about how tanjiro, inosuke, zenitsu, and nezuko do eventually meet eiko, murasaki, and shizue because our characters are in a different demon slayer dimension thing so the story is a twerked a bit to where that happens in another kny universe which i think is cool
props to @BLUBERRYSANS2 for thinking of that
anyways hope u like my oc its one of the only designs im actually proud of lol
(and if anyone is confused as to why im typing out her backstory after posting this ref months ago, i rlly needed to update her backstory bcs there were a lot of things i changed since the old story had stuff that didnt go along with how demon slayer worked if that makes sense? so bcs im reading the manga and know a lot more about kny and its characters and all i decided to retype eikos backstory completely)
