Chapter one: Ziku stared at her room, taking one last look. This house was her prison, her hell. Tonight it would burn to the ground. She took a black mask and put it on. Her nose and mouth were covered so, if anyone saw her, they wouldn't know who she was. She tied her green hoodie to her waist and put her phone in her back pant pocket. She walked out into the hallway of her house and stared at one particular door. She put her hand on the knob and quietly creaked open the door. On a bed was her drunken father, asleep. She silently walked to his desk. On it was multiple papers, pens, books, and a wallet. Ziku carefully grabbed the wallet and opened a drawer. Inside, there were dozens of keys, but she was looking for a specific one. The key that lead to their family safe. She quickly grabbed it and left the room. As she closed the door, she opened the wallet and found what she was looking for, money. Right as she started to head downstairs. She turned around to meet her sister.

Her sister had short black hair and wore average clothes. "And just what do you think you're doing?" Stephanie said, crossing her arms with a smug expression. She could tell their dad and get away scot-free. "Something I should have done a long time ago." "Kill yourself? I agree with you!" Stephanie cackled quietly. "I've got a much better idea." Ziku cracked a grin at those words before starting to head downstairs. Stephanie yelled, "Hey, dad!" Her yell awoke their father. He slammed his bedroom door open. "What?" He said harshly. "The little freak is sneaking around, being a weird shit," Stephanie said smiling, thinking she had the high ground.

The man yelled Ziku's name. Ziku said nothing but stopped walking when she heard her name. "Get your ass up here...now," he said harshly. Ziku shrugged and continued downstairs. The man headed downstairs after her. Yet when he reached the bottom. Ziku was out of sight, but this didn't concern him. He walked around, calling out to her. "If you get up here now, maybe I'll throw away my idea of making you completely blind." He threatened. Right then, he got tackled by Ziku. She had both of her hands on his arms. "No need. We have five senses. It's a shame only you use one to try and find me." She said, digging her nails into his skin until it bled. He threw her to the ground and kicked her in the stomach. She curled up in a ball from the pain. The man grabbed her by the collar of her shirt so he could get to eye level. "You were never my daughter."

Ziku put her hands on his arm. Suddenly the man let go of her, dropping her to the floor. He screamed in agony. A black, thick liquid was burning through his arm. Both Ziku and him could hear the liquid singeing through his skin. Ziku shook her hands to get the acidic liquid off. It only had burnt her father. Ziku was immune to the substance. She quickly ran to the office and opened the safe. In it were papers, cards, and a pistol with two boxes of ammunition. She grabbed the gun and started to load it. Only to drop both the bullets and the gun on the floor after being in a chokehold. Her father kept her in the chokehold. He planned to strangle her. He never cared about Ziku. He had no remorse for her. He tore out her eye, and now he would strangle her to death. Ziku managed to break free of his grip by biting him in the arm. It was barbaric, but she was in a fight or flight situation. After all, she's been through the past 14 years. She chose to fight, only to get revenge on her family.

She grabbed the pistol and whatever bullets she could at that moment. Ziku rushed to the garage barricading the door after her. She loaded the gun and left the other ammunition on the ground. She then grabbed an old hatchet and swung at the garage door until there was a big enough hole for her to fit. Ziku dropped the hatchet and grabbed two cans of gasoline and a baseball bat. She threw all three items through the hole before climbing through it. Ziku opened both cans of gas and poured them around the house until they were empty. Soon she was greeted by her father grabbing her. His hand was over her mouth, and the other was gripping her wrist tightly. "I bet you feel really ****ing stupid now, huh?" He whispered in her ear.

She squirmed for a bit, eventually using her free arm to elbow him in the stomach. He let go of her for a moment. When he got back to his feet, Ziku was behind him. He felt an indescribable pain in his right leg. Ziku bashed his lower leg with the baseball bat, shattering his lower leg. He fell to the ground screaming. "They say the bigger you are, the harder you fall." Ziku taunted, making fun of her overweight father as she loomed over him with a smile. "You're disgusting! No one will love you! You were a mistake sent from satan. You'll be burning in hell with no way of forgiveness!" He spat. Ziku stopped and looked at him again. "Hey, when I do go to hell, I'll stop by to give you a call, alright?" She said before spinning around and walking off. She stopped when she was in front of the kitchen window. She lifted the pistol and paused to look back at her father.

"Who's in control now, dad?" She asked. Her father looked at her for a split second before hearing another gunshot and an explosion. The bullet shot right on the kitchen oven. The gasoline mixed with the explosion caused the house to go up in flames. Her father and sister would already be dead before any help arrived if they weren't dead already. The explosion sent ziku back a few feet. She fell over on the ground But soon was offered a hand by a figure that looked anything but human. Its skin was pitch black, and its eyes were white and glowing. It wore brown pants, black shoes, an orange collared shirt, and had bright orange hair. Ziku took the hand as the figure helped her up. "Thanks," she said before looking back at the burning prison she called 'home' "We best get going." the figure spoke. "Good idea" Ziku nodded before picking the gun she dropped and headed off in the woods. Where was she going? Only time will tell.

Chapter two: Ziku walked along the rocky trails of the forest, she didn't know where she was heading, but Ziku knew she'd either survive or starve out here. The figure from the night before appeared floating above the ground. "Where ya headed?" He asked. Although the figure didn't have a mouth, the two were able to communicate. They had a special bond between them. "Forward," Ziku said. Though if someone were to be there for this conversation, they wouldn't hear anything. Ziku didn't move her mouth when speaking to him and the figure had no mouth to talk through. "Smart. Now, do you know just where forward is leading you?". It asked. "No, do you?" Ziku asked, glaring at the figure. It pointed its pitch black finger in the air, then lowered it finding nothing to say. "That's what I thought." She said as she continued walking. As they had a blank conversation, Ziku ran into branches, tripped under roots, and had gotten poison oak on her hand.

"Quit itching your hand. It's getting worse the more you do." The figure said, cringing a bit. "You don't understand the pain of poison oak!" Ziku argued. The figure laughed. "Of course not!" It spun on its back, continuing to float. "I am made out of tar! I don't have to deal with such pathetic human issues!" The orange and black-figure laughed. "I'm not a human either, and who's fault is that? Yours." Ziku said, continuing to scratch her hand. Her hand was red and swollen now, though she couldn't help but scratch it. If she didn't, a burning feeling would singe under her skin.

"You know this whole plan is insane, right? I mean, sure, you got step one done, in a pretty badass way too. But now, you have no knowledge or experience living on your own in the woods." "I suppose you do?" Ziku asked. "I would go hunting and camping with my older brothers in the living world. So yes!" It said with a proud and cocky expression. Ziku jumped up and grabbed the figure by the hair. "Why didn't you tell me that?!" She yelled. "You never asked!! Now let go! I just got my hair done!!" Ziku angrily let go of its hair as she then pinched the bridge of her nose. "One thing. One very needed detail that would be very useful to know earlier. Good lord, man, you are so stupid." Ziku said. The figure crossed its arms and rolled its eyes. "Whatever. You never care to ask about my personal life."

"Why would I?! You live alone and pester me doing whatever you want. Doesn't seem that interesting to me!" Ziku said. She was getting pretty stressed out at this point. "God, I never should have gone along with this stupid plan!" She snapped to herself. Her breath sped up, and her heart raced. "Work with a demon who says he'll make your life better. I'll make everything better. Come along and work with Yuro Varrath! God! Why can't I make better decisions in life?!" She yelled as she pulled her hair. The figure, Yuro, didn't say a word. Ziku finished screaming to herself, and she stood up. She looked around, and Yuro wasn't there. At the time, she didn't care. He annoyed her too much, and she wanted some quiet time to think. Soon the sun set, and the stars took over the sky. Ziku was cramping and hadn't found any food source.

Chapter 3: She stopped walking and leaned against a tree. She slid down into a sitting position and sighed. She teared up for a moment, then shook her head. "Get it together. You know what you're doing. Sure, you might starve out here, but maybe you'll get through this. You're badass if you can survive a demon transformation and having your eye ripped out. You can sure as hell survive this." She said to herself. Suddenly Yuro appeared sitting next to her. "What?" Ziku asked harshly without looking at him. "I've got an idea of how you can survive this place, but it's not a guarantee. The odds of it happening are unlikely, but it's worth a shot, right?" He asked. Ziku shrugged. "I guess. Now, what is this rare cheat to survival?" She asked. Yuro stood up and offered his hand to help her up. Ziku got up herself instead of taking his help. She was still annoyed at him.

"There is one more realm. I haven't told you about it yet because only a few demons can enter it. I've tested it all on my other nastic-demons before you and had no luck." "So why are you testing it with me?" Ziku raised an eyebrow. Yuro shrugged. "Just want to see what happens." Ziku sighed. "I prefer to try to survive than sit here rotting. What do I have to do?" Yuro handed her a paper full of signs. Ziku looked at the sheet, then looked at him. "Hatastsu? I barely know this language. I can only make out a few words." Ziku said. "Then repeat after me," Yuro said before slowly reading the words out loud. Ziku repeated after him. "Now say it on your own," Yuro said, not having too much confidence in this experiment. Ziku repeated it loud and clear. Suddenly both characters saw a flash of white, then nothing. "Did it work?" Ziku asked. Yuro shrugged. "Only one way to find out." He said. Right then, a small, dark grey cloud hovered over Ziku. It started to pour rain down on her. Ziku groaned in

annoyance. "What the hell is this?!" She yelled before taking a step forward as the cloud followed after her. Yuro looked at both her and the cloud and cursed under his breath. "It worked!!" He said, astonished. "It worked!" He repeated. "What do you mean?!" Ziku yelled, practically running in circles to get away from the cloud. "We are in the fifth realm!!" Yuro laughed out of disbelief. "You still haven't told me what this fifth realm is!" Ziku yelled. She jumped, trying to get rid of the cloud. Though every time she jumped, the cloud lifted itself higher so she couldn't reach. "We are in the mindscape! A realm where it appears to be our surroundings. But we can imagine anything without affecting the real world." Yuro said. Ziku then stopped for a minute. She walked over to him and pulled him by the hair. "Get rid of this stupid cloud, damn it."

"Quit with the hair!!" He yelled. Ziku let go of his hair and thought for a moment. The cloud moved away from Ziku and floated over Yuro. It poured rain three times as much as it did for her. Yuro had an annoyed expression. He snapped his fingers, making the cloud disappear. "So, how will this help me survive?" Ziku asked. "You can do whatever you need! You can test things out. See how far we have to go until we civilization, etc." Yuro said. "Go look for civilization," Ziku said before summoning a simple ham and cheese sandwich. She hadn't eaten since yesterday. She didn't know if once they left the mindscape, she'd go back to starving, but she didn't care at the time. "Why do I have to?" Yuro argued. "Teamwork, my friend, teamwork," Ziku said. Yuro groaned and stood up straight. He was already able to float, so he didn't need to use any mindscape abilities. He floated above the trees and searched for around ten minutes.

"I see a hunting post, so civilization is close. For me, at least." "Fantastic," Ziku said sarcastically, as she took a bite of the sandwich. "There's a village dozens of miles from here. It's best to head east." Yuro said before appearing next to her again. "Thanks." She said, finishing her sandwich. "We should start moving tomorrow. You should probably get rest." Yuro suggested. "Good idea." She said as she then started to climb a tree. She decided she'd rest in a tree to stay away from predators. Yuro snapped his fingers, and they were back in the real world.
