Anyways I wanted a lot of variety with zombies in this universe since there’s so many different states of decomposition. Myles is just in between the bloating and active decay phase, but replaced most of their body parts as they started to fail, and Mona is about at the dry remains state and prefers a much more natural acceptance of loss of her body

It doesn’t show super well but I put a red line in the middle of her eyes because when I looked into how eyeballs decay, one of the first big post Mortem changes is this split that gradually forms in the middle of the eye, and turns from a barely visible almost bruise to a red streak as the blood vessels collapse in the eye. Very neat.

I want to build up a modern fantasy universe and zombies have so much potential in my head since there’s so many different ways to die as well as decompose, plus thinking of the cultural aspects of a universe where some people are literally rotting corpses going about their daily lives
