I want to shy away from using color hunt palettes and start making my own, so that my designs will be more distinguishable from other OCs.

So theres the colour schemes: Monochromatic: one colour which can be in various tints, shades, or tones Achromatic: black, white, grey Analogous: 2-3 colors next to another on the colour wheel Complementary: colours opposite to eachother on the colour wheel Triadic: 3 coliurs that form an equilateral triangle on the colour wheel Nutral/basic: includes brown and/or denim blue, as well as black, white, or grey Then warm and cool colours.

No not necessarily, those are just the main colour schemes For a palette just choose colours you think look good together, but the schemes can help. You can also always play around with the shade and tone of the colours.
