In 2178, the world was much too overpopulated and there was barely enough food and animals to feed the humans that inhabited earth, so they decided, a long time back, to design a nuke that would ‘take us back to our roots.’ they found a very rare chemical that would not harm humans, but get rid of the weakest or children, and would not harm the remaining animals, within the nuke were also vials of the extinct animals and breeds, leading straight back to repopulation, however they didn’t know if this would truly work; because what if it wipes everyone off? What if theres just nothingness, or what if we live and it made it all. worse. But they did it anyway because its the government, would you really expect any less? They launch it and no one truly knew how large it was, but it was big enough to wipe 9/10 of the world (will explain the last fraction on a different comment.) and turn it all into luscious, fertile land, and regrowing the very pinnacles of earth, in all of its beauty, back its original state. (1)

But there was a surprise, something happened to the vials of the animals, with the rain that came after the nuke, was radioactive, but the difference between this rain and regular acid was the fact that it had beneficial chemicals within it, helping the plants grow, making the vials grow out the extinct animals and plants, which did actually function as planned, nothing wrong with that, but there was one thing that wasn’t expected, humans didn’t die, but instead were mutated with some of the chemicals in the air, morphing them into animals that were in the vials, turning them into humanoids of sorts, while some humans managed to stay the same, many were either impaled by the fast growing foliage or turned into hybrids from the fumes and bacteria falling from the sky. And heres the real problem. People who had weak immune systems (babies, elderly, or cancerous.) were killed because the gene was more of a bacterium, slowing becoming a gene after years go by, and weakened the immune system for a long time-

shutting down the body for a few minutes and coming back to life, which the described group cannot handle, while others affected by the bacteria can take too much of it in, turning them into the amalgamations, the hybrids are more known as the Animila, what originated from the nuclear fumes that recreated this earth, but earth was never perfect, just pretty in some ways.

A few scientists and doctors that had worked on it are still out there, while others are just trying to survive in their new forms, or have been taking over by the Animila.

tldr: humans fücked up the planet too much, government sends out a nuke, nuke wipes out old people sick people and children, and turns people into humanoids (good) and hybrids (not good)
