Uhhh…? Wait, do people really think we’re sweet? I thought the general consensus was that we seem really rude. Idk, autism shouldn’t be considered related to how kind someone is, especially not the connotations of sweet.
Honestly it’s rather double standarded
People will expect neurodivergent individuals to be sweet and cute and just a bit “quirky🥰” however the moment you behave like an actual human being and have a spine and an opinion, then you’re just the antichrist incarnate to them
It’s something I’ve noticed a lot when I’m not masking I’m really monotone, just getting my point across and not dragging on the conversation, but no because I’m not cutesy people get frustrated and annoyed and resent me very very fast
That’s just from my personal experience tbh I’m annoyed by both overly exaggerated views of wether autism is “Really mean” or “really sweet”

Thanks, I don’t mind, in fact I appreciate it. My own experience has been fairly similar actually, people do tell me I’m very compassionate or sweet, but it surprises me ig cause I was just doing whatever other people did like… idk indulge in small talk or something. And then when someone gets to actually know me they think I’m cruel, blunt, and robotic. I just… idk, I’m a person. I do what I gotta do to survive and it’s not my fault that certain things are harder for me and other things are just..l who I am and what I like.
