I guess like an explanation for why I said what I said. I am not taking anything back, only offering a more nuanced take. A work does not become good or worth viewing because it took time. If a work tells me nothing about the artist or myself or the world, it is not good in my eyes. If it is only done to garner internet points without a soul or emotion behind it, that work is dead and not worth viewing by anyone. A piece for the sake of creating something aesthetic is worth no one's time. Art is made to be experienced rather than consumed as a passive viewing. Art is made to be hard and complex, not beautiful.

This is why I dislike realism shills and the recent zentangle trend. They have no emotion. A soulless rendering of a chocolate bar wrapper will help the world none, and the artist gains nothing making it aside from internet points. Nothing is learned or gained. Viewing it takes one look and one click of the like button and never considering anything past it. This is also the reason bagelmum, 120tea/clowndad and nighteye are my favorite artists on here. Their works make you think. You can tell, especially with bagelmum's work, that something has been learned in the creation of this art. There's something under there. Not just a desire for came.

Oh btw In saying this I don't assert to having art that changes the world. I mean my current pfp is silly centrist man. But in drawing the majority of my current work, I impart my own emotions and my own past into everything I create. I include concepts that demonstrate those emotions. My concepts for drawings always include how I want to make the viewer feel. I don't, nowadays, draw things for the sake of aesthetics. Just for likes.
