I don't mean, like, they don't know a few details, I mean they have no clue at all about anything.
Or, they haven't done any research into it ever, and they say they love it.
You can be interested in things, but don't say you're a fan if you're clueless.

Linkthat happens A LOT. like if your talking about a joke someone will laugh for no reason and you ask then if they know the joke and they say no, or if your talking about a fandom people will say oh i love that! and then say some random thing they saw from one pic TwT
