Linkyou were a maid/butler in the royal Lokie palace, and only a couple of years into your employment, you were assigned as a personal servant to Prince Christian himself. he never noticed you until your 3rd year working for him, and around that time is when he started actually calling you over by your name, and making small talk. you knew his favorites, so it was easy for him to care more. he was naturally very destructive, but around you he felt oddly calm....

One day, Dion was wandering in the garden, on his way to feed the stray cats outside of the palace walls.

Christian came up behind him and tapped his shoulder lightly, not saying a word
"GAHH-" Dion spun around and cleared his throat "Good morning, your highness." he smiles
"How may I assist you this morning?"
he laughs a bit at scaring him, smiling softly "nothing in particular, just wanted to know what you were up to" his voice was so gentle and smooth
"Oh !!" He smiles "there's a family of stray cats beyond the palace walls, so i was gonna go feed them!"
"oh, there is?" he asked, a small smile on his face as he looked at dion

Dion nods, clapping "the mother recently gave birth, so I was checking up on her!"

Dion reaches into the bag, grabbing a few treats for each of the cats. He kneels down to feed it to them

he watches as dion feeds the cats treats, a small smile on his face

Dion gently scoops the cat up and laughs, showing it to Christian with a joyous smile on his face

his expression became a little surprised, and his cheeks turned a little pink as he lightly pet them with his finger

At this point, dion was basically in heaven, picking up the cats and letting them rest anywhere on his body. His shoulder, his lap, even his head.
He had a look of pure, innocent joy on his face as he laughed

"you might get your clothes dirty...." he said with a bit of worry in his tone, pointing out the fact that the servants in the palace wore white uniforms, just like how the royals wore a lot of white clothes

"Worth the trouble though." Dion smiles cheekily, hugging a cat. He glances down at his uniform which was slightly sullied, but not too much
he sighed softly, looking at Dion's uniform. he then saw how happy he was and he smiled at him, watching his watch the cats climb all over him
Dion continues feeding the cats treats and spoiling them in multiple different ways.
he gets up from his crouched position and he puts his hands in his pockets, still looking down at dion
The cat treat suppply starts to run low and Dion huffs, quietly pouting. He stands up and brushes his uniform off
"let me go get you your spare uniform" christian sighs softly as he starts to walk to the door that goes back into the palace
he walks into the palace, and as soon as the door closes he sighs heavily and leans back on the door, a dumb smile on his face before he finally goes and gets a spare
he laughs a little. (god, why is his voice so perfect!!!) "yes yes, here you go"

Dion gently takes the clothes and smiles "I have to go change, seeya soon!"
he nods as he watches dion leave. he stays where he is, thinking deeply about things
a few minutes later Dion scurries back out, his face cheerful and with a childlike innocence.
(Dion is lowkey based off a betta fish, and usually is rly srs but i thought he should be cute and cuddly for the sake of this rp !! >.<)

he lightly pats dion's head, smiling sweetly. he then sighs softly, "well, do you have anything you want to do today?"
"well, I have a few things to do in the palace, but those things can wait !!" he chuckles
"you're right about that" he nods a bit, a thoughtful look in his eyes, a calm expression on his face
"nothing! you have something that you want to do, i'm up for it!" he nods
"uhhh I don't really know!" Dion laughs "I mean, the market has some new stuff, maybe we could go there?"
"of course! i'll go with you" he said, a bright smile on his face <3333
"Uwahh we have no time to lose!" he exclaims, standing up "let's gooO!"
he looks a bit surprised at the sudden energy, but he goes with him, a smile on his face
Dion hops up and walks towards the market, an almost childlike energy coming from him
christian feels the energy, and he starts feeling the same way, becoming a lot more cheerful than before
Dion skips ahead, taking a look at the fruits and vegetables "I feel like the palace could use some spring flowers, I'll be sure to get some!" he mumbles, smiling
"your highness, what're your favorite flowers?" Dion smiles, heading to a flower stall
"We'll get those then!" Dion replies confidently, waving to the stall owner
he has a surprised and happy smile on his face, not really expecting it

Dion quickly obtains a beautiful bouquet and he laughs, handing it to Christian
"For you, my prince." he says, giving a mocking bow before laughing. "like it?"

"Yayy!" he cheers, heading to another stall "I need some fruit...what do you have in mind?"
he chuckles as he watches, holding the bouquet in his hands "well, you know that we have seasonal fruits is the garden" he points out
"Huh, true." he laughs "But what about trying some exotic fruits?" he smiles
"but the kingdom's outdoor gardens have plenty of that, plus there are the forests" he points out, smiling softly
Dion realized he couldn't win this playful arguement and he sighs "I see, very well then!" a smile returned to his face almost immediately
"So, let's see..."
"how about some kind of decoration" he leaned down a bit to look at dion better "only we of the royal family actually live at the palace, so maybe you could get some decor for your house"
"Maybe!" Dion thinks. "Uhhh my little brother likes fish!" he laughs
"Maybe get him a painting?"
"My brother's picky." he sticks his tongue out "He likes acrylic, I paint watercolor."
he laughs "Maybe I'll try out acrylic one day though>"
"wellllll, because you're so talented, why not try acrylic now?" he smiled softly
"Welllllll since you're being so nice about it, I'll give it a shot!" he laughs
"yay" he smiles, almost forgetting that hes holding the white carnations

when the two get back to the palace, christian immediately put the carnations in the empty vase in his room, smiling at them as they sat in the vase so beautifully

Dion hurries in with a pitcher of water and fills the vase with water
"only a little bit, alright?" he tells dion before the vase gets filled up too much
"well, you do a very good job" he honestly sounds like he's flirting, but he doesn't have to try to sound that way, his voice just naturally does it <3

"just perfect" he smiles at dion, setting his hand on top of dion's head
he shakes his head and sits down on his bed, thinking to himself how cute dion is <3333

Dion smiles warmly "First of all, you're one of the most amazing people I know and will ever know. You're kind, and ambitious. I truly believe that you'll grow up to be even greater than now, as long as you put your heart to it!"
Dion cheers, smiling
"is that..... all? just wondering" he said, getting some butterflies in his stomach already
"If i went on, I'd never stop!" Dion laughs, winking playfully.
"In all seriousness, you're an amazing person!"
he blushed at the simple action of dion winking, and his heart started beating a bit faster.... but he couldn't just let it all show on his face
"it's great" he smiled softly "thank you" he breathed slowly, trying to calm his racing heart
"yayy!" he cheers. A call is heard from the hallways and he squeaks
"Ack- I forgot about my chores today! See you later, your highness!" he smiles, winking before running off
he gets a bit flustered at the second wink, covering his face once dion left his rooom
he tries doing everything he can, like thinking about something different, but the thoughts of being able to be with Dion keep flooding his brain, which makes him even more flustered
In the evening, there's a knock on Christian's door and Dion peeks through
"Dinners served!" he cheers "May i come in?"
"yeah" he says a bit loudly, now laying on his bed, facing the ceiling, thinking about things
he looks over at dion "just fine..... just... thinking" he smiled a little

"Are you hungry?" he smiles "If not, I'll leave the tray here..."

"yeah, a bit" he smiled slightly, his eyes locked onto dion, not looking at anything else
"if you want" he smiles, still looking at dion as he laid on his bed
Dion nods, smiling and he lifts the tray up. He gently sets down the tray next to Christian and he proceeds to water the flowers
he examines dion as he does this, smiling even though it's such a simple action
Dion sets down the jug of water and kisses a flower.
"I find that it helps the flowers grow!" he announces proudly. "So, enjoying dinner?" he smiles
he looks a bit surprised, he hadn't even touched the tray "oh- heh" he sat up and set the tray on his lap quickly
"it's alright, i can if you don't want to" he knew it was useless to tell him no, because he knew that dion would end up working nonstop if he was allowed to
Dion smiles as if he'd just won an arguement and he opens the window "ahhh, doesn't it feel nice?"
he sighed "you just never stop, do ya?" he smiled when he said that
"I mean, there are so many important people in my life, I can't help but feel motivated to make them happy, y'know?" he smiles
"why won't you let someone help you, though?" he seemed genuinely curious about these things
"but you can't just ask for all of the work.... you need a break every now and then...." he tilted his head at dion, looking a bit concerned still
"Sometimes I enjoy the work quite a lot." he laughs "some other times I feel like asking for help would be...I dunno, selfish?"
he goes over to dion and puts his hands on his shoulders "don't ever feel selfish for asking for help, alright?" he looked a bit stern, but he was just concerned for dion
he gently cups dion's face with both of his hands "good. remember, i'm always here for you" he then goes back and sits on his bed, putting the tray of food on his lap again and he started to eat some of it
Dion nods silently and smiles "...I'll let you eat in peace, enjoy and have a nice evening!" he smiles, headoing out
he waves a goodbye to dion, smiling. he then eats a bit more off of his plate, then loses his appetite and sets the tray on the floor, laying on his bed
soma, Alis's personal butler and one of Dion's closest friends, jumps out, trying to scare him, but not really
"GAHHHH" Dion starts to laugh and scrunches up his face
"You do a horrible job of scaring me, y'know that?" he smiles
"i know!!" soma smiles brightly, his cute little face having an expression of joy on it
Dion laughs "Try harder next time, for me, okay?" he giggles
"so, whatcha doing right now?"
he giggles as well, nodding "i just checked in on Alis, shes a bit sick right now, so she needs a lot more attention than normal" he sighed, messing with his fluffy blue hair a bit, loosely braiding a few strands
"i'll check on her later, just to make your job easier." He chuckles.
"I just finished serving Christian his dinner, so my schedule is freed up."
"no need to.... but ooohh!! i'm free too! wanna go out today? i think that there was a carnival up!" he jumps up slightly, a big, bright smile on his face
"A carnival? Heavens I haven't been to one in FOREVER!" he giggles, clapping his hands "Let's go!"
"yeah!" he grabs dions hand and rushes to the door with him, about to start giggling uncontrollably because of excitement

soma skids to a halt and ends up falling over, getting up swiftly and going over next to dion, smiling "want some?"

Dion smiles when the attendant makes sure that their door is securely closed, and then the ride started

The acpsules start to get higher and higher and Dion kicks his feet, staring out the window "Look look look!" he excalims

Elmo is in the garden, watering the flowers. He's up early today because of the shift change between him and another one of the maids.
christian came outside and sat on one of the benches, watching elmo silently, a slight smile on his face
Elmo notices Christian from his peripheral vision. He flinches a bit in surprise. He wonders why the young master was up so early.. Elmo decides to greet him. "Good morning, young master. What brings you here ? And so early that is."
"no need to call me that anymore, besides, you've been working for me for a bit over 3 years" he smiles sweetly, a kind look in his narrow green eyes
he chuckles a bit, standing up and walking over to him "you know that you can use my name, right?"
"is that allowed ? Considering you're the prince and all. I mean.. if you want me to call you so, I could." Elmo hesitates before continuing. " What will everyone else think ? Calling eachother on first name basis might give something off to others p, you know." Elmo laughs nervously, waiting for Christian's response.

Elmo's cheeks turn slightly red. He realises the sudden blush, so he looks away, hoping Christian didn't notice. "Alright then. I shall call you Christian. Feel free to call me by my name or anything else, as I am your servant." He doesn't look back at Christian while saying this. He can't show his already red face.

"uhmm.." Elmo is a bit speechless as he is flustered. He looks up at the tall man standing beside him. "Sh-.. shouldn't you go eat breakfast ? I think the maids are almost done with the food. Should I walk you there myself ?" He changes the subject, trying to calm himself.
"Alright, let's go." He walks away speedily, avoiding Christian's charm. Elmo's face gets more and more progressively red, he hopes Christian hasn't noticed yet. "Come along now." He looks back, calling for Christian, before entering the castle.
"I... I don't get why you're laughing so much." Elmo says this while knowing full well the reason why he was laughing. He must've thought that elmo was acting silly. "Could.. you elaborate for me ?" He looks at the giant next to him, his brown eyes shining in the early sun.

"I see.." Elmo spots a small puppy lying on its side by the wall in the corridor. "Oh my! A small puppy! How on earth did it get in here ?.. it looks sick too.. what should we do, young mas- I mean, Christian ?" He kneals on one knee reaching for the puppy.
he nods. he goes over to the puppy and he crouches by it, looking at it with sympathy in his eyes
Elmo feels the warmth radiating from Christian, making him feel self-conscious. The puppy bounces back up on all fours, looking healthy again. Elmo flinches. "I was sure it was sick.. who's puppy is this, Christian ?" He looks at him.

instead of someone like the head maid or christian, it was the queen herself who rang it. seeing her in a better light, it was easy to tell who christian got more of his genes from
she smiles at her "how are you doing Tello? is everything alright with my son?"
yes ma'am, he hasn't needed much from me, but I'm sure he is asking others..
"why must you say that? i'm sure he thinks of you as a very dear friend" she nods slightly
a friend? -confused enderman noises- but I'm, everyone says I'm too dangerous, hassnt he heared, sorry ma'am its just, hard to believe.
"well, he's probably worse than you are in some cases..... but he just needs someone who understands him like you do" she smiled softly, her eyes softening "will you do that for me, Tello?"
-her face loosens from anxiety to determination -she yes ma'am, il do my best,
she watches her disappear with a soft sigh
the head chef stops her from going anywhere, pointing a small knife at her, but they weren't going to hurt her "you, what are you doing in here?"
just checking in, that's all, I was just wondering if you wanted me to set up the table?
"that isn't your job..... why aren't you with him right now?" out of everyone in the kitchen, only the head chef knew that tello was the prince's personal servant, shockingly
well, uhm, -the chef can tell shes trying to be nice to him and making sure everything is perfect and shes new to the whole being liked thing-
they put the knife on the counter "it's alright, hon, don't worry about it" they smiled "just make sure he's eating enough at the least! he may be tall, but that slender body needs more meat on it" they shake their head, laughing a bit
-she tries not to laugh cince she was told its creepy she just smiles-
okay, -she teleports to christian-
he doesn't notice that she's in his room, but when he sees her he nearly falls over from shock
"it's alright!" he stands himself up, sighing softly "you just startled me a bit"
"i'm good! but what about you?" he asked, a small smile on his face
-shocked and maybe a little flustered that someone asked that- uh, I'm okay? -she hears someone walk up to the door and her ear perks as she looks at the door-
he opened the door, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, and there was no one there. he shrugged and went back "eh, it was nothing"
-she nodded as she asked hi if he needed anything from her again she seems to want to make him as happy as she can since he was the one who brought her to the castle and gave her the job-

he waved his hands as a no. he may have brought her there, but he was far from a good person, and he really didn't need off of the positive attention that she gave him

the librarian, Jamison, comes up to her in the library, his head slightly tilted to the side "do you plan on returning that soon?"

he nods, walking back to memorize the shelves, even though he knew everything about everything in the library, being a 302 year old vampire and all
-after she was done she gently set it in the returns bin and walks out of the library-
he called out to her "anything you might want to look for, Tello?" he knew everyone in the palace, and a lot of people in the kingdom in general
-she smiles and shook her head - no thank you not right now -she gently shut the doors-
he nods at her before she leaves, and keeps going through all of the ordering of the shelves

"uhhh...." he started, not really saying much, but he did come over to the door and crack it open slightly, showing a bit of his face "just gimmie a second...."
-she nods and teleports to the side of the door on the outside and leans onto the wall-

"hm- oh, no, it's alright" he smiled "it's just that when you came over i was still getting dressed" he chuckled softly, a bit of an embarrassed look on his face
he looks at her and waves his hands as a no "nonononono! its alright! it just surprised me a bit!"
"trust me... i've had people walk in on me, it's alright" he chuckles a bit

"well, i'm pretty familiar, so i suppose we can!" he nodded slightly, smiling a bit
he walks all the way on the path, not bothering to look at the other people there until he was up at the kingdom's palace doors
"theres always someone!" he tells the guards who he is and they let him and tello into the palace
-as they walk they see tapestry's of the end and the creatures that live there it makes them look like murderous monsters- that kinds looks familiar, -she looks at one of the dragon arena- that one kinda looks like me, but with no ears, -she said looking at an enderman one-
he talks to the royals there, being very polite and asking about tello, considering she was found outside of their walls

king: -dissaproovingly looks at tello- -the king is a scruffy stronger male with an endereye in the center of his crown and looks very unimpressed meanwhile the queen has a ender pearl instead of the eye and looks kind and gentle-
queen: -she looks scared and worried for their safety-
"so.... do you suppose you have the answers we're looking for?" he asks calmly
king: she is an enderman, that's all we know, her ears tell us that she was mixed with something else in the end, see after we killed the dragon she had left her egg we took it back and it got stolen, for all we know she could also be a dragon.
he looked quite shocked, not really understanding, but he nodded a bit "i see.... that.... that makes sense..."
TELLO: -she backed up in fear- but, those tapestrys i-im not a monster,
"hey.... no one is saying that you're a monster, tello" he tries to reassure her
Queen: no shes not, yet, but shes still dangerous, dragons are very bitter creatures, and will stop at nothing to get what they want,
"but she's not like that" he was still being respectful, but he was making a small argument
-the king gets up he seems alert of what's going on with tello-
-tello begins to grow in size and have wings shes just scared-
christian looks over at her, a bit shocked. he tries to calm her down
-the king pulls out his sword-
-tello keeps backing up-
TELLO: -she roars- don't come closer! -she gets surrounded- Christian help!
he breaks that respect that he was taught and his long elf ears point down a bit "don't touch her! she isn't a danger! she's just scared!"
-she roars again as the king chases after her- prince step back from the enderdragon! -he yelled at she teleports away- darn it! -he yelled- ender men cant teleport far! search for her!-he looks down at christian- you young prince must go home, we will protect the five relms even if I have to trap you into your room... -he said with a bitter tone-
"you can't do that, you can't just send me back to my kingdom! Tello is my friend and i won't let you hurt her!" he yells at the top of his lungs before dashing out to find her
christian found him and came up to him "hey...." he said softly, not trying to startle him
he backed up slightly and put his hands up in a fake surrender "sorry.... i just wanted to know if everything was alright..." even if he was the prince, and a bit of a b!tchy one at that, he was still very kind and caring
"well, why should i do that if Alis is going to take up the role before me? you of all people should know that" he chuckled a bit at the mention of his older sister becoming the next queen whether she gets married or not
he looked a bit disappointed, but he just sighed "alright, whatever you say" he turned away and left, not saying anything more
one of the other butlers came over to Xonak. it was the Princess's personal servant, Soma "hey.... what happened with you and the Prince? are you alright?" he had such a kind look on his soft face as he talked, his gentle voice sounding a bit concerned as he asked the question
"He's sticking his nose in my business yet again," Xonak crossed his arms and shot a look at the doorway he had left from. "He's always doing that. I don't see him nosing around you when you're on your break. I'm not some pet dog he can play with whenever he likes. It's ridiculous how he expects me to put up with it."
"well..... Alis does the same with me..... but i like it and i deal with it" he chuckles a bit "it's just one of the perks of being the personal servant to one of the royals" he smiles at xonak
"Well, that's just great for you," Xonak bared his teeth in a mocking smile. "That was sarcasm, don't bother actually replying. I was destined for better than to be a royal servant, you know. I was a royal alchemist, and it's because of that horrid prince that I have to mop his floors while he does nothing but laze around."
With that, he turned out of the room and stomped away, not bothering to look where he was going.
soma looked out with a slightly sullen look on his face
as xonak is storming around, not watching his step, he bumps into Alis, the princess. she was very short compared to the rest of her family, so it was easy to not see her, as she was only 5'3"
Xonak backed away, looking around for a place to disappear into, but there was none. Unfortunately, despite being one of the shortest people in her family, she was slightly taller than him. He hated seeing the rest of the royal family and knowing that they could see him like this; humiliated, and now with no power.
she was way too kind to do anything to him, and everyone knew that she was probably one of the sweetest people alive "h-hey.... Xonak.... are you alright?" she looked genuinely worried
"I'm fine," Xonak took another step back. "I was just... Looking for ah, a book. Yes, and I ah, forgot where the library was."
This was such an obvious lie and Xonak winced as it left his mouth; of course he'd know where the library was when he was practically raised in one and spent many days in there before he become a servant.
she smiled a little "it's alright.... you don't need to avoid everything. if you have issues, you can bring them up to us" she said reassuringly, talking about her and Christian
she looked a bit scared as she watched him leave, her long elf ears pointing own a bit
the librarian, Jamison, greeted him bluntly "hello, what kind of book are you looking for?" the 7" vampire was the trusted librarian, how crazy, but so on point and accurate for a good librarian....
"no.... he doesn't normally come to the library" jamison looks around a bit, then back down at xonak "why are you ignoring him?"
"well, i'm sure he just wants to be your friend" he sighs "i've seen a lot in 302 years... lots that i do and don't remember.... one thing that i know for sure, though," he walks over to a far away shelf and comes back with a book in his hands "is that the young prince just wants to have a friend"
"you'd be shocked at how many friends he actually has......" he hands xonak the book, and the front says 'Alone Time from Royalty' "i thought you might want it to borrow for a while"
"I'm surprised anyone wants to be friends with him, considering he waltzes around and does nothing," Xonak took the book. "Wanting to borrow it for a while would be an understatement. If I had a way to avoid being around him forever, I would take it."
He turned around, and walked out of the library.
soma saw xonak again and walked over, trying not to be annoying, but rather actually helpful and reassuring "hey, xonak..... what's that you've got there?"
he gasped "awe! that book!" he clearly recognized it "i've read that one, it's pretty great!"
"Perhaps I should read it out loud to the prince and see if he'll leave me alone," Xonak commented as he tucked it into a pocket. "Unless he has an explanation as to why he seems to like clinging onto me, it'd be best if this dynamic ended."
He paused, actually considering the option; it had been sarcasm, but it could possibly work. The problem would be trying to find him.
soma starts to laugh a bit "well, i hope you enjoy the novel" he emphasises on the word novel, trying to make it obvious that jamison gave him a damn romance fiction that was about getting over yourself
Xonak squinted at Soma with suspicion, before retreating in a corner to start reading. It became very obvious what it was then, and he considered finding Soma or that librarian and giving them an earful, but he decided to read the entire thing so he could see if it had anything of substance. Of course, he was very doubtful about it having anything of use.
the book started off with a young maid who worked in the royal palace, and overtime, she grew closer to the prince. one day, the prince betrayed that trust and closeness without even knowing, and it ended up shattering the maid's whole trust system. trying and trying to get more chances, the prince begged and pleaded, trying to show how much he wanted their friendship, trying to show that he still cared. after a few years of the two giving up talking to one another, they both cross paths and apologize for their wrongdoings. after all of those terrible ordeals between the two, they gave up fighting and ended up together, not leaving each others' sides until death did them part
"no...... just suggesting that you should try saying something rather than assuming" jamison was standing close enough to hear him speak
"Assuming what, that he's a spoiled brat?" Xonak scoffed. "You realize I've seen him being rude to people, or belittling others."
He stood up and stalked off. Everyone was doing their best to bother him today. The only thing that would be worse would be if the prince started following him again.
whatever hall xoank was walking through, christan was there, and he was helping up one of the servants that fell while holding things
the servant thanked christian after he helped them, and scurried off past xonak. christian was walking away, the same way that xonak would be walking if he hadn't stopped
maybe something has changed with him....
he stopped, standing still. he looked back at him, a slightly shocked look in his eyes "what do you mean....?"
"Do you do much of anything besides lazing around and letting other people pick up for you?" Xonak raised an eyebrow. "Your only 'friends' are people who are required to be around you and are afraid to speak against you because they are afraid of being fired and having to fend for themselves. What have you done later, well, ever that's accomplished something?"
"I'm not surprised," Xonak gripped his wrist as he spoke. "I didn't think someone who cost me the job I'd worked for my entire life would have anything to say about himself either. You'd better hope you never have to take the throne, because you wouldn't last the way you act."
he could be seen tensing up a bit, even from the distance, but he stayed silent
he opened up the door to his room and he nearly slammed it shut, but he managed to keep calmer than normal and he shut it softly
There was a loud noise, a shatter, that came from his room. clearly some pent up rage that he was bottling up
no one came around to help or fix it.... because everyone was doing things in the dining hall for a special event
there were some shattered vases. ones that could easily be sold in retail, and the balcony window was open, christian out on the balcony, looking out to the landscape
"please just go.... alright?" his voice was surprisingly calm "i'll clean that up later...."
"just get out! i'm done with you calling me stuck up and spoiled.... i'm trying to get better because i've finally realized how scared people are of me! i'm not going to give up because of your words, dammit!" he still faces away, now gripping the railing of the balcony tightly
"Getting better by making more work for the people that serve you is not what most people would do," Xonak fingered the door, considering whether to close it, or say anything else. "I highly doubt you're actually going to do anything to better yourself, but I guess I'll have to see if you actually give up or not."
"fine then.... stay! see if i f*cking care or not! just stop trying to make me feel worse, alright?!" he turned his head a bit, side-eyeing xonak
"then get out like i've been asking, alright?!" he looks back down then turns around to shut the window doors to the balcony, keeping himself outside
he sat against the glass doors and looked down, feeling weak and helpless, not knowing how he can make things better and gain trust
he kept himself locked in his room for hours and hours. eventually alis came over and knocked on his door after waving to xonak, a smile on her face
"Uh, I wouldn't recommend going in there right now," Xonak winced. "He's uh, brooding, I suppose you could say. I can talk to him if you want."
Xonak would much rather talk to the prince than have to explain to her what exactly he said that had caused him to go into hiding.
"if anyone understands him.... it's me" she nodded gently and opened his door without knocking a second time. she was his sister, so it didn't matter whether he wanted her in there or not
"Oh, dear," Xonak cringed as he opened it; something told him that he was probably going to be judged after this. "You sure he couldn't just be let alone? No, of course not because you guys can't just take days off I suppose."
He leaned over to the entrance, waiting so he could hear what was going to be said.
she took a deep breath before she walked in, checking the surroundings of his room to see where christian was. she had been in there for a while.... a very long while at that, and she was sitting outside with him on his balcony, comforting him
After a while, alis finally came back out into the hall, but she didn't look to or start off by asking xonak any questions
when he looked in, christian's room was spotless. no dirt or ceramic shards or anything of the sort on his floor. alis then looked at xonak and she had a slightly worried look on her face "is.... everything ok between you two?"
she looked a bit more confused now "he told me that he's trying to show how much he cares, but.... you keep pushing him away..."
"well, you should try.... because he doesn't have a lot of people to lean on, and he needs someone more than me....." she looks at him with concern, not wanting her brother to be lonely anymore
she saw the book and smiled at it, shaking her head "i really hated that one, heh..."
christian was still outside on his balcony, looking off into the distance
he saw xonak out of the corner of his eye and he sighed "sorry...."
"it's not fine, alright? i was an ass, and i know that people are scared or mad when i walk in the room... but i'm seriously trying to get better..." he takes a deep breath, trying to collect his thoughts "alis always says that....."
"at least we can agree on one thing...." he mumbles under his breath, brushing some of his bangs off of his face and looking off into the distance once more
"things.... are really hard for her, actually..... the amount of suitors i see walk in cocky and run out pissed or crying is disgusting...." he shudders a bit, looking down at his feet
"people don't come in to see me... they come here to see her, and turn me a blind eye....." he sighs, readjusting his shirt a bit
"she's an odd one, and even more odd as a sister...." he pauses "but.... i love being able to see everyone happy around her, it helps her realize that she is the better sibling out of the two of us, because she's older...." he looks up into the sky, a blank, dead smile on his face
Xonak gave Christian a worried look; comforting people really wasn't his strong suit.
"Er, I don't think she's better," Xonak said; well, that was a lie. Did he really think that she was worse than he was, when she was nothing but kind? "Well, she's always prying and always seems to know what I'm thinking. It's creepy."
"she has her reasons, and those are reasons i'll never understand.... but i can say for sure, that she'd be a great queen when that day comes, so i can only sit back be patient for that day to come" he inhales deeply before looking back down and letting out a sigh
"Then why bother being here?" Xonak asked. "Sounds like a waste when you could be doing something useful. You could run away somewhere, and find something you could be good at other than waiting for your sister to die so you can take her place. She'll probably have to have kids anyways."
"but if i leave, then i'd miss out on all of the wonderful things that could go on. and when she has kids of her own, i'd want to be there to see them.... it's not just a waste to stay...."
"even if i'm not needed, i'm staying..." he then stopped talking, feeling as if that was all he could finish with
"i know..... i will, don't worry..." he walked back into his room and off of the balcony
"no.... it's alright.... you go relax" he looked at xonak with a slight smile on his face
"this time.... i don't know...." he sighed a bit "i wasn't told"
"I'll meet you here soon," Xonak glanced down at the shabby clothes he was wearing. "I'll be back in a moment."
He quickly made his way to his room, a plain looking room; he preferred things clean. His tabletop, however, was a mess, filled with his different experiments, objects on interests, and other things he had collected over the years. He quickly slipped out of his clothes and put something on that would suffice, even if it wasn't a masterpiece in clothing form.
when christian got dressed, he put something on that he was told was for the special occasion, and boy oh boy was it FANCY, but still simplistic and good-looking
Xonak couldn't keep the exasperated sigh from escaping his lips when he saw Christian's clothes. He glanced down at his own, making sure there was no sweat or anything on them; he had just basically run from his own room back, after all. But truly, he would never understand the rich. Those clothes alone if sold could be worth enough to pay for his food for weeks.
it was a white suit(w/ no blazer, but rather a vest) with black accents, and all of the black had small gold pinstripes, it was really nice. he looked down at xonak, a small smile "you look nice" he then nodded a bit
Xonak narrowed his eyes as he tried to decipher whether it was a genuine compliment or some kind of insult; his clothes were not very nice, as wearing presentable clothes wasn't a priority. Not with the pitiful amount he got paid.
"Are you ready to go?" Xonak asked. "Or do you need to put on a bunch of jewelry too?"
"i only wear my earrings, silly" he chuckled a bit "c'mon, lets go" the tone in his voice was him being genuine and a bit joking as well, but still really genuine
"'regular' clothes feel.... i dunno, a bit weird...." he shrugged slightly
"hey, thats not it.... i don't know.... i just don't like them" he sighed softly as the two walked to the dining hall
when the two walk in, they're both immediately greeted and walked in further. christian was brought up to his parents and they sat xonak down by him. alis sat across from christian and soma sat across from xonak
"well.... it's a really special occasion... clearly" christian mumbles to xonak
at the same table, there was another king and queen from another kingdom, and their daughter, who Queen Castela and King Howard were expecting christian to marry.... obviously. he really just side-eyed her the whole time, not wanting anything to do with anyone else
"hell no.... i'm good without someone like her...." he looked away from the girl. she was actually pretty pretty, but christian was less than interested
"exactly.... i'd like to pick someone out myself...." his voice was all mumbly and a bit grumpy sounding
"Like who?" Xonak flitted his eyelashes in a mocking manner. "Me? Hah, don't bother answering that, I know you wouldn't want someone who looks like an old snaggletooth like me."
He snorted, and started laughing rather loud, only to die down when he saw everyone else staring.
"no.... but.. someone who i want to be with" he sighed "you're like a friend to me" he looked into his lap, looking at his hands
his expression lit up a little and it went more to a neutral expression "oh, i know.... i'm not sad, just a bit disappointed in my own family..."
"the food should be here soon..." he sighed as he watched their table get served last
Xonak paused, looking around. He narrowed his eyes at the girl that Christian was being pressured to marry as if she was doing something bad. He had no idea why he felt so judgmental of her, but he wrote it off as being protective; when being paid to work for someone, he shouldn't like someone who was threatening his job. Yes, that had to be it.
she had seen his gaze and she huffed softly, ignoring him. christian smiled softly while looking at all of the food
"oh, she doesn't plan on marrying another prince.... i'm planning on avoiding her, don't worry" he muttered to him, sighing heavily
"great idea, already three steps ahead" he sighs, starting to eat as well

"everyone would notice.... they last until everyone's done..... then the other family normally stays a night...." he groans, trying to eat as quickly as he can, but not seem like he hates it there
"i can't do any of that..... i can't act like I want to leave" he says through slightly clenched teeth, side-eyeing the girl every now-and-then
"maybe if she sees that i'm uninterested, it'll get her to leave me alone after the meal.... it really is...." he eats to seem like he wasn't talking shit
"Someone's going to hear, or she's going to tell her parents..... i don't want my own to have issues with other kingdoms..."
"I have a good idea, then," Xonak said, smoothing out his napkin. "Say you're betrothed to someone else or are planned to be. Then just.... Delay it until they give up and she marries someone else."
He paused, thinking it through. Would it really be a terrible thing to say? Most would chalk it up to a young boy's foolish love. He didn't like the idea of anyone dating Christian, it didn't quite feel right.
"thats dumb.... a good idea, but a bit dumb.... no one would want to marry me if they knew about the shit i've done and the ways i've acted...." he shakes his head, looking at his plate
"If it's not actually real love, I'll do it," Xonak offered. "It'd probably get me a better job around here at the very least. I might even be able to resume my position as what I used to be; the royal alchemist."
Xonak paused, and dreamily thought of his old job; he had been o young when he was being apprenticed, but he'd do anything to prove his worth again. He wouldn't let them down.
"you still are... but you think that you have to be devoted to me....." he looks at xonak a bit confused, then shakes his head again "it wouldn't work and it would seem odd and fake, alright?"
"I used to dabble in theatre," Xonak smirked. "And you don't understand what goes on here. I wasn't "demoted". I was just "reassigned." Which means my pay has been cut in half and instead of being able to focus on my real duties, aka, inventing, I have to mop the floors. This isn't my job, and this wasn't what I signed up for. I'll do anything to get out of this. Anything. You hear me?"
"well.... i don't know if it would be convincing, considering that it's tradition for royals to marry royals that are of the same species.... so it would just be weird...." he looks off to the side, looking at the decor in the dining hall
"What, because I'm part goblin?" Xonak guestured to the fact that he was shorter than pretty much everyone in the room, not to mention the fact that his eyes were almost a clear white color, with his larger than normal ears and light pink skin. "Or that I'm not royal enough? My father and mother are closely knit with your family, and are nobles. Well, were. They're not around now, but you get my point. I'm sure if they were alive they'd have torn this place apart when they learned what I've been doing instead of my actual job."
"thats not it.... i'm expected to be with a full bred elf.... it's just what the world is like...." he rested his elbows on the table and looked around slightly, trying to not look inconspicuous
"i've got an idea... alright?" he sighs "i might be able to dissolve this way less violently than Alis does with her suitors...." he shudders a bit, his mind going right to all of the call-outs that happens whenever a man who wants alis gets turned down
"i'll wait until the end of the event.... the family will stay in our spare rooms tonight anyways...."

"i know that quite a few people would be proud" he snickered a bit, covering his mouth to laugh a bit
he ate at the same speed everyone else was eating at, his mother started talking to him, and he tried to be kind about the other kingdom's princess, but he just didn't want to be associated with her
it landed in her sleek black hair, not even really noticeable because it was chocolate cake, and she didn't even feel it! what a win!
being the sweet person that she is, Alis did notice it and point it out to her, even if she's of an opposing kingdom
after everything was done, Queen Castela declared it done and told everyone to go back to their regular duties, going over to the other king and queen and leading them to the guest room that they would be in
"i'm not sure" he mumbles a bit, standing up a bit straighter and looking a bit more presentable when the other kingdom's princess comes over to introduce her to him
she looked down at him "don't speak unless told.... even a regular servant knows that rule..." she scoffed
he was being very calm and he went through the protocols that he was taught to be kind and polite
"i have very little of a say.... you do know that, right?" he looked down at xonak as the two were walking her to the guest room which was, sadly, right next to christian's room
"oh hell no they don't.... if anyone is going to have her hand it's probably going to be a civilian that she gets close to" he rolls his eyes, then falls silent as the princess starts talking to him, asking him things. he answers with slight smiles and calm tones
she looked down at xonak "and? what if i can? maybe i don't because i'm looking around this palace?" she sounded a bit more snobby than before, lightly glaring at xonak
"oh... is it really?" she looked at christian a bit sad, he nodded with a little smile
"yes, it is" he looked at xonak to dismiss him as he lead the girl to the guest room by his own
before christian closed the door to the guest room, the girl came over with a sweet smile on her face, lightly kissing christian's cheek. when he came back over he was fairly flustered and he didn't look really happy
"yeah... good idea...." he groaned as he opened the door to his room
Xonak sighed with relief and walked inside of the other's room; telling someone as high a status as him what to do wasn't something he was authorized to do. Of course, he probably had more rights being a servant here than anywhere else, but it was rather unfortunate that if things had gone differently, he would have been a very well respected individual.
christian flopped onto his bed, his social battery for other kingdoms VERY low now
"yeah.... Now you're stuck with me, pretty much...." he sighed, knowing that he was a terrible person
"no..... also, i'm sorry if it seemed like I never cared before..." he groans a bit, looking at xonak
"I don't like being treated like a plaything," Xonak replied. "As you know, I was going through the process of being trained. I have to combine the technicalities of science along with... Everything else. But I angered a family because they wanted the one thing I couldn't do. revive the dead."
He paused, and glanced at Christian to see if he was even listening to his long winded speech.
he looked genuinely shocked, sitting up to hear him better. he seems very invested in this
"Well, they really didn't like how I acted, so they told your family that I would do better to train under them, and they for some god forsaken reason agreed," Xonak's breathing was ragged, and he paused again to keep his composure. "They kept me imprisoned for almost a year. They thought I was hiding the secret to bringing people back from the dead. They would hurt me whenever they came in to interrogate me. I wasn't allowed to become an alchemist after what had happened. They said if I had that much power in my hands, they couldn't trust me not to hurt the people who hurt me first."
Xonak roughly dug his fingernails into his wrist as an attempt to curb his anger at bringing this up; perhaps the royal family had been right, but every time he thought about them basically punishing him instead of that family...
"if my mother found out about all of that, i don't think that she would keep an alliance with them anymore...." he huffed softly, obviously not wanting his own kingdom to be associated with shitty people like that
"wait a minute..... it was a regular family and not another kingdom? i'm now more surprised than i was before...." he looked very confused now
"huh..... thats really cool" he looked closely at the pocket watch, inspecting it
"Don't go getting sarcastic with me," Xonak narrowed his eyes. "It help me avoid danger. I can tell when something is about to happen when I keep it with me. I have my theories on something else it can do, but I don't dare test it. If anyone else finds out, it will be taken from me. Don't speak a word unless you want to find out how truly desperate I can get. Understand?"
he looked at xonak again "why would i say anything about it? if it'll only cause more trouble, then my lips are sealed" he nods a bit, backing away from the pocket watch
"ohh..." he says softly, his voice full of interest "who was it? do you know?"
"well.... that doesn't really narrow it down..." he raised an eyebrow jokingly
he sighed and shrugged "alright.... well, you should've started with that"
"more and more bullshit....." he sighed "you really think i'm that much of an ass to others, huh?"
"i have to be polite to her! i've tried but you just push me away..." he narrowed his eyes a bit
"yeah, i get that... but you still get pissed at me because you think i'm stuck up...." he sighs a bit, tilting his head a little
rikka would be visibly disgusted and would spit corrosive acid onto his face as a defense mechanism
Shizu sighs as she hears her name being called. "Yes, sir?"

he was just waving softly "i only wanted to say hello" he said calmly, a sweet smile on his face
She feels her face brighten a bit and nods. "Hello sir." She looks away and scolds herself. 'I can't think those things! He's my boss!' She shakes her head as she starts walking out.
he heard her mumbling to herself and he tilts his head "is.... is everything alright, Shizu?" he asks softly

She turns quickly and slips up a bit. "Yes, I was thinking out loud. Uhm... Do you need anything?" She crosses her fingers behind her back, hoping he won't notice her red face.
"are you sure" he laughed a little "i know that it's hard for you to lie to me, if i'm being honest"
"You don't know me that well, we've never really... talk talked." She shrugged a bit, avoiding eye contact.
"you don't know what i know though" a slight smile on his face "you do know that you can talk to me about anything, right?"
She tenses up and nods. "That wouldn't be appropriate, as though you are my boss. I don't have the right to speak to you. At least about my troubles."
he looked a bit shocked and he tilted his head "why should that matter? i don't mind you talking to me"
"I-isn't it unprofessional?" She tilts her head a bit, her hair falling to the side.
he laughs a little "funny that you think talking to me casually is wrong" he smiles. he might be the prince, but he doesn't think that speaking to people 'lower than him' is a big problem
She nods. "Is there anything I can get you, my lord?" She puts her hair up and a tight bun.
he giggles at her calling him things like 'lord' "you don't need to call me that! you've been working for me for over 2 years, it's alright"
"What shall I call you then?" She asks in a serious tone. "I'd feel bad if I disrespected you."
"use my name, Shizu" he smiles softly, showing that he really cares "i don't mind"
She goes deep red. "I-I couldn't sir! It just feels weird! Not that your name is weird, the fact that I'm your server and you're in the royal family. Not that that's a bad thi-" She rambles on and on.
he chuckles softly, clearly very entertained by this. he pats her head gently "hey, hey! it's alright" he says softly
She backs up, embarrassed. I'm sorry, si-.... Christian." She looks away, a deep shade of red.
"no, not really... do you have anything that you need?" he smiled gently
She nodded and started to walk away when she twisted her ankle and fell to the ground in pain. She sits there for a minute, tears filling her eyes.
he rushed over to her and picked her up, not letting her argue with him as he took her to the infirmary
She kept the tears from falling as she felt the air fwooshing through her hair. She clears her throat and tries to wriggle out of his arms. "I'm okay! I just fell!" She tries to kick her leg out to prove she's okay but something pops and she winces.
he walks pretty fast "you're not, now don't say dumb things like that you clumsy goof" he chuckled a bit as he kept a hold on her, not letting her go until he was in the infirmary with her
She looks away brat like. "Thanks. I'm okay though! I'm strong! I'll be fine, you can go."
"no" he walks into the infirmary with her in his arms and he sets her down on one of the beds after being led to one by a nurse
he sits in the chair by the bed in the infirmary room, and he doesn't leave her side
She leans back against the wall and starts to doze off. She shakes and shivers in the bed as she drifts off to sleep.
he doesn't leave her side until she's cleared and healed from whatever she did to her ankle
She rolls over in her sleep and starts sliding off the bed (That happened to me last night-) She mumbles something in her sleep as she ever so slightly snores.

he grabs her before she falls off, and he holds her there for a minute before leaning back in the chair and smiling softly

She flutters her eyes but curls back up to sleep. "Christian...." She mumbles.
when he hears his own name, he flinches a bit and blushes softly
She stays asleep and wakes up when she feels the nurse shaking her. "Hm?" The nurse explains she sprained it and she should be fine as long as she doesn't push herself too much. Shizu nods and goes to stand up. She winces but manages to stay a foot.
christian grabs her again and sets her back down on the bed "nope. you're not going back to working until it's healed"
"But..." She starts as she falls a bit and wraps her arms around him. "Shit... Sorry."
he patted her head gently "it's alright, it's alright, no need to worry"
She sits there and yawns. "Would you like to go back? You don't have to stay with me..."
"well, i don't really have much to do at the moment, so i'm going to stay"
She clears her throat and sighs. "I don't know, You treat me with such kindness, you make my heart flutter in ways I've never felt. I'm sorry but I don't know if I can continue to serve you with these feelings... They're unproffesional." She looks away, sadly.
he blushes softly "that..... that doesn't matter, at least to me" he smiles a bit
"I apologize. I get saying stuff like that could make you uncomfortable and I just want the best for you. I'm sorry I just-" She rambles on and on only stopping to breathe.
he hugs her gently, shushing her a bit "it's alright! no need to apologize for anything"
She tenses up and soon hugs him back. She sniffles as tears fall down her face. "Thank you, Christian. Thank you..."
She pulls back and looks at him with makeup running down her face. "You don't need to do this. I'm just a person. You're the prince!"
"that doesn't matter to me, i think you're a great person, despite what you think" he said soothingly, smiling softly
She sighs and looks away. "I work for you. You shouldn't be comforting me, I should be comforting you if anything. I'm a nobody. I'm lucky to even have this job!" She looks back at him and makes eye contact for a split second.

She wraps her arms around him and sighs. "I care for you. Whenever you need me, I'll be here."

She struggles a bit. "Christian..? I can't breathe?" She says half jokingly. She laughs a bit.

She feels her face flush and she stares at him. She gets butterflies in her stomach and cups his face. "Thank you for caring about me."
"always" he says calmly, putting his hands over hers as they're on his face
She goes bright red as she stares at him. "I-I- Uhm..." She looks down and her hands start shaking.
he brings her hands off of his face and holds them together, his own hands still around hers "you, what?"
"It's nothing!" She smiles up at him. "You just... are holding my hands and it's really.... nice."
he smiled "i could do something else that's really nice, but i'll wait for a while" he snickered a bit
"oh, nothing!" he laughed a bit more, a slight smirk on his face. he wasn't thinking anything too bad, but she could tell that it would be very embarrassing for her
She gets closer to him and gets a bratty look on her face. "Tell me, sir."
"maybe.... maybe not" he chuckles a bit as he lifts her chin slightly, his finger curled under it a bit
he hums gently and closes the gap between the two, kissing her gently
he smiles through it(I WANT SOMEONE TO DO THAT TO MEEE!!!!) holding her face gently as he held it for a few seconds
he hums softly as she buries her face in his neck and he smiles "so, how do you feel?"
he shudders slightly, blushing a little at the feeling "thats good"
She goes bright red. "You're a jerk..." She mumbles as she lays her head on his lap.
he blushes a bit and lightly started stroking her hair gently, smiling "good"
She smiles up at him. "I really like you." She blushes at the feeling of his hands in her hair.
"even better" he leans down a bit, bringing her head up closer to his and now their faces were only a few inches away from each other
he kisses her back, holding the kiss for a while, pulling away to look at her face, smiling softly
"heh, you wish it was a dream" he snickered a little at tapped her forehead with the tip of his finger playfully
She smiles a bit. "Only dreams could be this amazing though." She pulls him down for a kiss.
he lets out a small 'woah' as she pulls him down, and he kisses her with a bit more passion than before, and when he pulls away, he whispers gently to her "but real life is even better"
She sits up and on his lap (Not in a sexu@l way) as she wraps her arms around him, ignoring her ankle.
he smiles at her and tilts his head "and where did this confidence come from?"
She laughs a bit. "It's not confidence- I'm freaking out inside-" She shows him her hand and how bad it's shaking.
She flushes and tthe butterflies in her stomach grow. She remembers how he reacted when she kissed his neck so she leans in and kisses it again.
She bites down softly and laughs to herself.

he sighs a bit and looks at her, his eyes widening a bit "n-no... it was fine... i was just new to me..." he looked off to the side with a bit of a dumb smile
She goes red and looks at him. She tilts his head so he's looking at her. "It's new to me too... Don't worry."
"then don't worry about it" now, his smile looks somewhat cocky and a bit more like a smirk
"yes?" he lightly bites the inside of his bottom lip, still smiling
"How far are you willing to go?" She grabs his hand and puts it on her face.
