the only reason people in a capitalist society work to earn is because of currency, currency is causing the incentive for them to work. This doesn't mean there is no incentive in communism, because in a communist society currency is abolished just as hierarchy and private property, this give the means of production to the workers therefore the workers produce to what they need, Instead of the overproduction in a capitalist society causing workers to be layed off.
