from the moment that thing touched her, edmund knew there was something wrong with the look in her eyes. all of a sudden she looked.. distant, almost. and she didn't really act right. she avoided his eye, she barely replied aside from telling him she was fine and there was nothing wrong- within a few seconds she seemed like an entirely different person, and like she barely even knew him. at the time, he left her alone, thinking she was just spooked and would recover the next day- never could he have guessed how untrue that would turn out to be.
