*Ch'toro limped through the waves of sand in this ocean of drought, a, arid seabreeze of sand gritted across his skull, he kept is tongue tucked up under the roof of his mouth*
* a tall figure stood a few yards away, barley visible against the sand, it just stood there staring at something *
*Ch'toro had no goal insight besides to just survive, but he was failing at that, his limp worsened with every step, his eyes grew darker*
* the figure moved, sensing the wind slowly picking up. it took up a sprint to a nearby hole in the ground, quickly diving inside and disappearing from view *
*Ch'toro tried to push harder to keep himself going after feeling the wind, but his body couldn't take it, he fell over, the sand shot up around him from the impact*
* the thing slowly poked it's head out from the burrow, probably hearing the fall, and saw Ch'toro *
*Ch'toro's eye sockets were dark, a sandstorm roared over the ocean of drought like hurricane, barreling towards them*
* the thing cursed quietly and leapt out of the burrow to Ch'toro's side * Get up ya lazy dink! there's a storm comin'!
*Ch'toro was unresponsive, the sandstorm drew near with gale force winds*
( oof 'dink' is the best non-cursing insult i could come up with )
* it growled and grabbed Ch'toro by the scruff, trying to hurry to the burrow *
*the roar of the sandstorm overruled Sandig's hearing, he couldn't hear his own thoughts*
( btw Sandig is non-binary so they go by 'they', 'them' or 'zhe' and 'zhem' )
Sandig: * stumbles forward, the burrow just feet away *
ah shit, i forgot, ****)
*the standstorm nipped at his ankles, ready to overtake and devour him*

Sandig: * slowly, ever so slowly, they reached the burrow, leaping inside and dropping Ch'toro on the carefully placed rock ground *
Sandig: * they cursed under their breath as they walked over to a large pool of water in the corner of the burrow *
Sandig: I don't normally save people from the storm. you best be thanking me * they grabbed an old bucket with a few small holes in it and filled it with water, carrying it to Ch'toro and dropping it infront of him *
*Ch'toro sat up weakly and lapped up the watter quickly, after he finished, looked a little better.*
Sandig: * takes the bucket and walks back to the small pool of water, dropping the bucket nearby and trotting to another part of the burrow that held broken bowls and a few bones *
Sandig: * coughs once and sneezes before picking up a slightly less broken bowl and walking back to the pool while talking over their shoulder at Ch'toro * there's a small mat you could lay on in the orner to your right.
Sandig: * shrugs * what ever. * fills the bowl with water and pauses * do you speak?
Sadig: okay. * glances at the opening to the burrow and then curls up into a tight ball *
*Ch'toro shivered, he was cold, he limped up next to Sandig and curled up next to him*
Sadig: * they just lay on the ground staring at the entrance to the burrow as sand slowly made a pile on the ground in front of it *
Sadig: * grumbles * i'll have to dig my way out when the storm's over
Sadig: * sighs and keeps the rest of their negativity in their head*
Sadig: * flicks tail as they turn their gaze around the small burrow *
Sadig: * slowly stand up and takes a few steps before stretching *
Sadig: * growls slightly and walks towards the enterance of the burrow to start digging the sand out of the way *
*Ch'toro retracted his paws after hearing their growl, hos ears tucked back*
Sadig: there's a bowl of water next to you * by the time they where finished digging they had several scrapes on their front paws *
Sadig: I'm not dying an I? * Looks at one of there paws and shakes it before bolting out of the burrow after a hare*
Sadig: * comes back a moment later and drops a fat hare on the ground *
Sadig: thanks * picks back up the hare and sets it down next to the broken bowls * are you hungry?
Sadig: hm. * They said something but the hare's leg muffled it, making it sound like ' are you a dog or just some weird bat thing?'*
Sandig: * spits out the leg * sorry, I said what is your name? I'm Sandig.
Ch'toro: i don't mean to sound kinda flirty but... i kinda like yeh.
Sandig: * looks surprised for a split second before nodding * most creatures think this stuff when someone saves them
*Ch'toro sighed, Sandig might as well have called him a damsel in distress, he curled up in the corner of the den*
Sandig: leave when ever. i honestly don't care * trots outside *
*Ch'toro walked out of the den and walked in a separate direction from Sandig, his tail tucked and his ears back, he sniffled a little but kept on walking*
Sandig: * sits in front of the burrow, their expression unreadable *
Sandig: * stares at a vulture as it flies in circles above them *
Sandig: * shifts slightly as another vulture begins to follow the other in the circle *
*Ch'toro was lost at this point, he didn't know where the den, neither did he know a way out of the desert*
* one of the vultures dove at Sandig and they scrambled back, getting their foot stuck in some animal's burrow * ( yes i know vultures only go after dead things. lets just say it' hard to find food out here so they go after whatever they can find XD )
*Ch'toro turned around and began to trace is tracks back to the den*
*Ch'toro saw this and charged at the vulture, he snatched it up in his jaws and bit through its throat with his fangs*
*Ch'toro threw the vulture he had to the ground, then grabbed the other and bit through it's throat as well*
Sandig: * stands there looking stupid, one foot stuck in some animal's burrow * erm-
*Ch'toro dropped the vultures corpse and dug into the ground next the brrow, freeing Sandig's foot*
Ch'toro was silent, he walked back into the sand dunes, he knew he was still unappreciated by Sandig*
Sandig: * their tail went between their legs and they walked back into the burrow *
*another sandstorm blew in, Ch'toro tried to outrun it, but he failed, only a few feet from the den, he was consumed by the sandstorm, the half skull that was on his head was blown inside of the den, splattered with blood*
Sandig: * spins around and runs towards the skull * what the hell? * peaks outside and flinches before carefully walking out to look for Ch'toro *
*a pile of black fur was stuck on a log from a long dead tree like a bag caught in a tree branch*

Sandig: * spots it and slowly makes way over there *
*it became clearer that it wasn't a pile of fur... it was a broken and bleeding corpse*
Sandig: * curses, grabbing the corpse and struggling back to the burrow *
*the corpse was Ch'toro's without a doubt, his face looked normal without the skull*
Sandig: god damn it! every time i save someone they go and die on me! * shouts over the storm as they near the burrow *
Sandig: * throws self into the burrow, landing awkwardly near the pool of water *
Sandig: * sets down Ch'toro and instantly goes around the den, looking for medical supplies *
*Ch'toro's blood began to seep into the pool of water, the water now shimmered*
Sandig: * scurries back holding bandages and instantly starts patching the wounds *
*there were too many wounds to count, the sand from the storm had ripped away a lot of flesh, it'd be near impossible to save him at this point*
Sandig: * they cursed silently and tried to think of what they could do *
Sandig: * frantically looks around *
