Okay so the maze is where lost children go to wander until they find something. But that something hasn't been found yet. The five previous children have since disappeared into ghosts and forgone their past lives. Pinky was a trans girl rejected by her family. Blinky had ADHD and was refused access to anything to help them cope. Inky was abused by her older brother and eventually lost hope. Clyde was brought up into the family business and crumbled from the expectations. The maze is their home now. Pac wanders the maze now. Haunted by a past he refuses to share, fighting off the ghosts that try to help him. He believes the point of the maze is to get rid of the ghosts.
