nah, I'm good.
Hark: *gestures to a bag strung over his back* yup. Mikey helped out, and he packed me everything from granola bars to pain killers.
Hark: *grabs a map from a tourist booth map thing (you know those things)* ok so what trail are we taking?
Maplefire: *whispers* the fastest trail. We,could cross through the forest. No one would care.
Hark: good point. Lead the way, I've a horrible sense of direction.
Maplefire: *whispers* go! *guides Hark to the entrance and steps out*
Hark: *looks around following her* *for such a large creature his footsteps are suprizingly light*
Maplefire: *looks back and whispers while walking* are you excited?
Hark: *nods* *looks around at the woods, studying it as though he's never seen much of it before*
Maplefire: *bounds around the trees, never losing sight of Hark and whispers* have you ever been here before? The forest?
Maplefire: *whispers* you'll be in for a treat! There's so much to do here!
( everything she says will be whispered. I'm too lazy. XD)
Hark: there's so many things here! *bounds over to a pink red maple leaf* *picks it up* its pink! A pink leaf!
Maplefire: that's a maple leaf! The kind I was named after. They get really pretty during leaf fall, go ahead, do what you want, soak up the sight.
Hark: *runs over to some mushrooms* they look like the ground has pimples!
(This is what happens when a character spends his childhood locked in a house :T XD)
Maplefire: *smiles* I've had one before, they're good! I love it when they're cooked, but raw is fine as well.
Hark: *grabs it but the rubbery mushroom slips out of his .. pig feet paw things and he falls backwards*
Maplefire: oooops, they're slippery! Here, I'll show you a way to pick them. You have hoofs, right? Go slowly and jab them, then you have a grip.
Maplefire: *smiles wider* congrats! That'll help you a lot! If that doesn't work. Use your hoof to swip the mushroom and pick it up by the stem.
Maplefire: *stretches out front paw and takes a mushroom* I'm going to collect a few to eat later.
Hark: good idea. *struggles to pull his mask back on, but manages it*
Maplefire: let's get going, I wanna travel a bit. You could always point out your findings though. Enjoy your first time in the forest.
Maplefire: *slinks through the trees, always watching for Hark* these forests are kinda familiar, not any clan forest though. No scent markers.
Hark: *tries, and fails to climb a tree, and settles for the ground* I don't think I'm built for tree climbing.
Maplefire: that's fine! It's easier to run through the forest. Trust me! *comes down from a tree*
Maplefire: *follows close behind* here's a tip, jump over the roots, or just bound around. There's a very slim chance of landing on a root.
Hark: WOOHOO *bats one of the leaves at her* GO TO YOUR MOTHER LEAF
Maplefire: *dancing around playfully, trying to avoid the leaves* leaf attack!
Hark: *begins pinning leaves to the ground* got you! And you! And you! This is private airspace!
Maplefire: *smiles* congratulations! Let's get going now, I wanna make this in the shortest amount of time possible. The mountains are going to be beautiful.
Hark: it's beautiful here. *chuckles* not sure i fit in, but it's definitely an amazing place.
Maplefire: you just need to get used to it. I would feel clumsy as well if I've never been here before.
Hark: yeah. I'll have to take you to the plains sometime, that's where I feel most at home.
*the trees begin thining, and the brush is almost nonexistent at the high altitude*
Maplefire: really? Okay. I've only ever seen the plains where WindClan lives. I've never been on it before.
Hark: the prairies are my favriote. Thick blankets of grass stretching as far as you can see, the little noises of the birds and prarie dogs. The huge herds of buffalo. The sunsets there are the best!
*the peak is visible, about a half mile ahead*
*there are no longer trees, and the ground is rock*
*the air is thin and the cold is closing in*
Hark: almost at the top!
*they reach the top*
Hark: *sits down and admires the view* you can see everything from here!
*the frigid air appears not to phase hark*
Maplefire: *takes a deep breath* it's so nice, there's so much to see. The world seems so much bigger from this view.
Hark: *tilts his head studying everything* *a sudden cold draft of air springs up*
Hark: nah *wraps his tail around her* *his skin is smooth but oddly warm* that better?
*the sun begins to set, painting the sky varying hues of lavender*
Hark: *looks at the sky, then fiddles with his mask pulling it off so he can see better*
Maplefire: woah, the colors. I've never seen a sunset before, being stuck in a forest and all.
Hark: really! *looks amused* *turns back to the sky* it's beautiful isn't it.
Hark: *tilts his head at the sky* its almost as beautiful as the plains.
Maplefire: I wish I'd seen one before. The plains must be beautiful then.
Maplefire: *eyes widen* sorry, maybe, yeah.*moves a little farther*
Hark: *shrugs* its fine.
*the sky is getting to a dark purple now*
Hark: *his brow furrows and he shakes a bit* *he looks down at the ground and begins looking for his mask*
Maplefire: your mask? I think it's right there. *flicks tail toward a white thing caught in a rock.
Hark: *picks it up and pulls it back on* he's shaking a bit, but not from the cold.
*dark begins to fall*
Hark: *doesnt respond, but looks out at the woods* we should get home. *his voice trembles a bit*
Hark: *stands up, still shaking* *picks her up and puts her on his back* that wolf'll eat you alive.
Maplefire: *tenses* go away wolf, there are two of us and one of you!
Hark: *looks at the wolf suspiciously* *growls* don't try anything.
Maplefire: *walks over to the wolf cautiously* it's going to be okay *uses her teeth to slowly pull the Thor out and backs away.*
Hark: *his back is no longer arched but his ears remain flat against his head*
Maplefire: *strokes Hark gently with her tail* Cool. Hark, come on, lets go, we need to get back.
Hark: *he relaxes and picks up his mask, pulling it back on his face*
Hark: *walks steadily, occasionally shaking, then twitching his ear as if dismissing a thought*
MapleFire: if you don't feel comfortable, I'm not gonna force you to.
Hark: it's just hard because you think you trust someone and your brain tells you no don't do it it's not worth it they'll just hurt you again but I want to trust you but I don't know and it's like my brain and heart are fighting *starts shaking hard and sits on the ground silently sobbing*
MapleFire: you don't have to fully trust me, for me to trust you. You could just partially trust me, it's fine.
MapleFire: it is, dont cry. Trust takes time to build, especially for some people. Take it slowly, you'll fully trust me one day, I hope.
MapleFire: you can't force it. Let it build, it's the fastest way. If you really want to that badly, listen to your heart.
MapleFire: everyone has their fears. Don't worry. I dont mind as long as you keep up your friendliness, you'll find that you can bring out your trust easier.
MapleFire: *throat rumbles, but only gives a weak whispery purr* I'm glad I could help.
