LinkI’ve actually had this on my mind for a while, just gonna finally get it off my chest. There is a difference between fanart and requests. I’ve had this happen to me too many times to count, and I’m sure others have ad it too, where someone bugs you and keep asking, “Can you make me fanart? Can you make me fanart?” Guys, fanart is when someone is a FAN of you so they make ART in your appreciation. Asking someone for fanart is like going up to someone you don’t know at all and asking them to be your friend. There’s no true meaning in it. If you really want art from someone, either wait until they’re doing requests, or just kindly ask when they’re not busy. Otherwise, fanart is earned, not asked for.
Reasons to never get popular: People will ask you to draw them frequently, people will also most likely advertise on your anims or spam
That's really accurate, people make it a big difference, even when I'm requesting I don't say fanart, I just ask if they can draw me politely.

When I take requests I say "fanart" instead of requests so that people don't ask me to draw random shit because I really just want to draw OCs.
I get it all the time, that's why it annoys me. People seem to really enjoy my art style too, so they're probably dying to see what their OC looks like in my style.
