LinkA pile of potatoes has a mass of 100 kilograms, and 99% of the mass is water. The pile is left outside one day, and some of the water evaporates.
After one day, 98% of the mass is water. What is the pile's mass now?
This took me about 5 minutes to complete, and it was very satisfying when I figured out the answer. Have fun.

WELL...
A pile of potatoes with a mass of 100 kilograms has 99% of its mass from water. This means that there's 99 kilograms of mass in that pile. You said that the WATER evaporates, meaning that the amount of water decreased to 98% of the mass. One percent was subtracted. 99/100=0.99. 99-0.99=98.01. That's the mass of the water, but you also have to subtract 0.99 from the 100 kilograms of total mass, giving you 99.01 kilograms of mass.
I probably just spent all that time for nothing.
