LinkIt was dawn when me and Gianna went looking for her. She had her Araquanid, I had my Golisopod- both knew Ice Beam just in case. Since it was still dark in the forest we were looking for Salad in, Gianna's Pyroar, Zima, led the way to light everything up. Hopefully, it wouldn't make us a target.
I remember this forest. Same place the rebel base is, too. Well, was. Nobody's here anymore. Everyone's dead or gone. Sad, when you think of it, but I guess it's for the better. Most of the people here were horrible.
Zima took us down the usual path. On the main, charted roads, then down through a space through the trees off the path. It was a bit hard to find for people who didn't know where they were going, and to them, it led to nowhere anyways.
The closer we got the more anxious I became. Salad absolutely hated me. Harassed me, threatened my life daily. Thankfully, though, Gianna would actually stop her if she did that this time. I was really lucky to have her apologize just around this time.. otherwis

Linkotherwise, I would be Salad's next meal for sure.
My heart sank as it came into view. The door was off it's hinges from the police raid. There were a few blood stains surrounding the door. On the trees, on the fake rock the door was hidden by. I noticed several different kinds of bones strewn about. Ribcages, vertebrae, arms and legs- a whole spine, apparently. It made me incredibly uncomfortable.
"Eh.. ladies first?" I said, gesturing to the door. She huffed.
"Wow, such a gentleman.." Gianna said sarcastically, nudging the broken door out of the way and walking inside. Zima, then her Araquanid, followed behind her. I tagged behind them, with Golisopod in the back.
We all walked in and looked around.
The place was a ruin. Desks, chairs, papers all thrown about, ripped up, broken. Many were in large piles of furniture chaos. Some looked burnt. I could tell a lot of this was from the police raid. The whole place was deathly silent and smelled like rotting corpses. How fitting..

Linkthought for a second. "If she's anywhere in here.. she's probably in the labs."
Zima nodded in agreement and began to lead us downstairs to the lab hallway. The smell got worse as we went downstairs, which was a good and bad thing.. good, because it meant that Salad was definitely here, and worse because it ****ing reeked. We started to hear what sounded like singing as we got further in. It was a bit ominous.
We get into the hall and immediate regret agreeing to come hit hard. There were half-eaten bodies everywhere. Guts, brains, blood, thrown about like confetti. The smell was sickening. I felt like I was going to throw up. All the ventilation was gone, as well, so all the heat was trapped. I was surprised I didn't pass out right there, but I definitely felt I would one step into this mini-hell. And Salad's enclosure was at the end of the hall.. and it seemed to be the only room lit up in this whole base.
Gianna seemed almost completely unaffected by the visuals. Infact, everyone else was fine.

LinkJust the smell and the heat that messed them up.
We all trudged through the gory scene, with me lagging behind a little because I was trying my best not to just pass out right there. Hope you're not eating, by the way.
There was definitely someone singing. It sounded like.. Bug? What's Bug doing here still?
We peeked around into the enclosure. The door was open, so it was risky.
She seemed to have moved her little, uh, trophy rack into her enclosure. She was currently messing with one of the skulls. She had also gotten a bunch of chairs from what I assume were the offices and torn them up to create a makeshift soft bed. The room's one whitewashed walls were now stained with blood almost everywhere. Same for the floor. In the corner, I noticed a ribcage and spine, both ends closed off by rubble. On the inside was Bug.
"Nobody knows the trouble I've seen.." Bug sang solemnly, "Nobody knows my sorrow-"
Salad scoffed. "Bug, do lighten up." She tossed a nearby random bone at him, causing him t

"It's a small world after all-"
"NO! No." Salad snapped, "ANYTHING but that!"
Bug thought for a second. "Does this scenario feel.. familiar? To you?"
"Sort of.." She tapped her chin. "But we can't put our finger on it."
Suddenly, Salad froze. Gianna and I became tense as she sniffed the air. Somehow, she had picked up our scent through the corpses. She snarled and eyed the doorway. Gianna had a lot quicker reflexes than me, so she was able to hide easily- me, on the other hand, tall slow man I am, was not so lucky.
With one swift move she was on me and I was dangling in the air by my foot, my head only a few inches off the ground. I yelped.
"Well well well well well! We were anticipating visitors after that police call, but you? Ahahahah! This is a treat!" She cackled. I struggled desperately to get out of her grasp, but her claws dug into my leg, making me wince.

Linksaid in a panicked tone.
As soon as the beast noticed her, she dropped me. And when I say dropped, I mean she didn't just set me down, she just dropped me on my head. I was lucky I didn't get a concussion, but that's twice now someone's dropped me on my head.
I curled up onto the floor and held my head. Everything hurt when I hit the floor. Full reality hit in those few seconds of pain. No natural bodily filters there. When I pulled my hand away I noticed blood, but I wasn't sure if it was mine or not.
"Leader?! Ahah! Leader!!" Salad exclaimed, running forward to embrace Gianna. I guessed that she hugged her a bit too hard, because I swear I heard a crackling noise. "Leader, forgive our informality, but we just missed you so much!"
I looked up to her. Even in the sparsely lit hallway I could see she had put on a few pounds. Which, isn't all that surprising. What was surprising was that she was missing her left arm from the elbow down. Wonder how that happened..

Linkstruggled in her grasp, to which Salad let her go. "Uh.. g-good to see you..?" She said hesitantly.
"Oh, Leader! We have news as well! We have quite a lot of news, infact!! It must be a sign that the Beast Brigade will live on if you're here so we can show you our findings!" Salad wagged her tail, much like a dog. She nearly smacked me with it a couple times. I watched as Salad grabbed Gianna and placed her on her back, then hopped over excitedly to her lit enclosure. My head started hurting a bit less so I was actually able to get up, but I still had to hold my head. Yeah, I was definitely bleeding. Her clawing into my leg didn't help either.
Salad showed her Bug in his little makeshift cage. The Heliarbok waved unenthusiastically. "You see? We caught this traitor red-handed while trying to raid what's left! So we trapped him here! Are you proud, Leader?" She looked up to Gianna proudly. I could see she was also a little nervous for her answer.

Linkback of her neck as Salad beamed. Before Gianna could say anything else, though, Salad ran off with her down the hall with her on her back, shouting about more things she had to show. Zima and Araquanid rushed after them.
I waited until until they were gone to try and limp over to Bug and set him free. Golisopod helped me get there, and helped me remove the rubble around the little cage. Bug seemed a bit surprised by this.
"What're you doin', Brandt?" Bug asked, as I cleared enough for him to just squeeze through, "You weren't very fond of me when the place was up and running, what's up with now?"
"Just go before they come back," I said. "Avoid police and people if at all possible. If they find you they'll try to unfuse you and it'll kill you. Good luck out there, okay..?"
Bug was confused, but he nodded, and ran off through a hole that I assumed he made when he was trying to sneak in in the first place.

For whatever reason, Salad had apparently jumped Gianna. Maybe she might've spilled the info that we weren't here to revive the Beast Brigade, but whatever happened, she was pissed, and Gianna's Araquanid and Pyroar couldn't handle her alone.
Before I could even say anything, Golisopod fired an Ice Beam at the dragon, which she very narrowly dodged. She snarled and landed, staring at us.
"We do everything for you, and this is how you thank us, Leader?! No, no, we're not even going to call you Leader anymore! You don't deserve that title! The REAL Leaders here are the Ultra Beasts!" She yelled. Behind her, a Nihilego appeared. Both of us shuddered.
Salad noticed this, and smiled. "Ahaha! Recognize them? They're upset that you let them go, Gianna, and they've chosen me to be the next generation Leader."
The Nihilego embraced Salad's head and suddenly, a bright light engulfed her. Gianna and I stepped back, readying our Pokeballs. Otto came out on his
