Oh goodness... explanations... Um, I think my faith and sisters (and the rest of my family, but I'm terrible because I'm v partial to my two sisters) are self-explanatory. I love the depth of Tolkien's world, the sheer unbridled heroism of the characters. I just find it so uplifting. I've been in love with DC comics for years. I find their characters and stories so wonderful and fascinating. It's... I can't really put it into words, but I love how each of their heroes/movies has a different tone to it. Like Wonder Woman was inspirational and, in my eyes, so hopeful. So was Man of Steel. Batman movies are more grim and then, in contrast, there's Shazam! which is so lighthearted yet serious and heartfelt in all the right places. Like... I know Suicide Squad and JL were terrible (and I think WB and Whedon were more to blame), but to me it was so obvious how much effort was going into making a good movie with a certain theme. And Man of Steel was the first superhero movie I went to see in theaters.

I was star struck and... maybe crushing on Superman so there's that, but also it's so... nostalgic for me and was one of my first steps into this... absolutely incredible universe. I love the animals I work with because... they're just... they've got so much personality. Most people don't think you would find that with octopuses and lizards, but you do and it's so... rewarding because you've got this positive relationship with this animal where... they know you and it's incredible and I wouldn't trade it for anything and it makes me so, so happy to walk in in the morning and see... the big lizard curled up and sleeping in his blankie (he loves his blankie) or the boa constrictor poking his head out of his hide to check out what you're doing bc he's curious.
