Teenagers are brand new drivers and tend to drive to school every morning. But the problem is those mornings start way too early which can result in a car crash with a teenager behind the wheel. Starting school early is not worth a teen’s life. Nor is it worth a teen ending up with depression. Teens with preteens, and children need a certain amount of sleep which is 7 to 9 hours for a teen and preteen and10 to11 hours of sleep for the younger students. Early school starting times can alter those needs. It's a simple thing like a sleep schedule that can affect a student. Not just the student but everyone around them. If they are in a sport their team will be affected because they are drowsy. If they have chores they will be done poorly. Falling asleep in class will become a regular thing. How and the world the teachers aren't tired is beyond me. But in a way later start times will help them too. Half the reason why students can't pay attention in class is because they are way too tired to even keep the

their eyes open. Apparently, waking up early for school is supposed to prepare students for getting up early for work when they get older. But waking up at 5 am is over exaggerating it by a lot. Homeschooling isn't an option either. Sure the whole sleeping issue will be solved but another problem will bloom. Sitting in front of a computer all day is not healthy for a teenager. Once a child becomes a teen they become more social. If your locked away in a homeschool computer will prevent that social activity. So homeschool is not an option. Think about the students grades. If teens wake up and the first thing they have to do is worry about school work. They are bound to get a bad grade on whatever they are doing. Home work today is being done less and less because of the simple fact that all teens want to do when they get home is to go to their room and take a much needed nap. Parents make their toddlers take a nap so they are not cranky throughout the day. Just because teens are older doesn't mean the
