LinkLike other ppls ocs are so friggin cool and creative, have back stories and shit but like how do people do it? I can’t make a character for the life of me sure I can doodle a dude but how do I give them a name, backstory, relationships etc what are y’all taking to make these detailed af characters???
it's really difficult to design in my case, but i personally find making backstories and such easier to do
But in all seriousness, I take my faves and just BLAST them with hurt. Thats how you character build. Maybe listen to music for inspiration? Story songs like ferryman by willwood and shayfer james, brittle bones nicky, ugly story, find a song that tells a bit of a story and just go ham from there. Maybe start making oc/self-inserts into your favorite pieces of media to start and then go on from there.
Dude there are soooo many songs that I could make characters out of but like its hard to put all the good shnit on to paper y’know
How do you dealwith accidentally making a character look too much like another/someone else’s?
I’m worried that’s what will happen because I’ll try to make my own then shortly after find another that looks the same and I’ll scrap it
I just do it 😭? /gen Just mess around with stuff mostly and then stuff starts to click, then it kinda just goes from there
