I'd say if your drawing a realistic-type wold, yes this would be helpful. But if it isn't, this is wrong. Some people like to draw their animals in their style, which might not be realistic. But i suppose the advice is fine.
Glitternation: I tried to make Do's and Dont's for the ideal wolf/furry.
i tried the mouth thing this is what i got (i was trying it in a blinking animation)
Glitternation: Looks pretty professional to me, although I recommend you make the eyes a teeny bit larger.
This is more for more of a realistic style, I prefer drawing more of a cartoon style for myself
