straight pride is built off of transphobes and homophobes who think they're being "oppressed" because lgbtq+ rights are becoming a serious conversation and more and more people are supporting us. even if you're not transphobic or homophobic, supporting straight pride means you're supporting something with a core that is. it is trying to "take back" the voices that the lgbtq+ community "stole" from straights, despite the fact that we have done no such thing, straights are very much so not oppressed, and us trying to be treated as human beings should not be treated as us "oppressing" anyone.

do not consider yourself an lgbtq+ ally if you support straight pride. i don't think many people will argue with me when i say that you are not an ally if you stand by that. you are not beat up on the street for being trans. your right to marriage is not younger than the song stitches by shawn mendes. you do not get misgendered casually by people who just can't be assed to learn your pronouns. you are not made into a joke simply because of who or how you love. you are not oppressed, your voice is not being stolen.

it is fine to enjoy being straight or cis. i'm happy you're comfortable with your sexuality and gender, and i am not bashing you for that. what i will bash you for, however, is trying to remove the voices of people you turn into a laughing stock who are somehow lesser because they're a guy that likes guys or a girl that likes girls or someone who likes both or everyone or just a few genders or just ****ing whatever.
