LinkHenkaplis Disease is carried by a small, microscopic creature, called Henkai. These creatures will enter the bloodstream through eyes, ears, or mouth, but usually enter instead through pores in the skin. From then on, it lies in wait, feeding off dopamine in the brain, which can lead to changed habits and personalities. It’s then triggered through an extreme emotional response and begins to feed off other brain chemicals. It then forces the victim to hallucinate or experience things that will trigger emotional responses, just so it can feed off of it some more.
After that, it almost completely rewires the brain, mainly the cerebrum. This leads to losing consciousness, sense of time and being, and also heavily weakens the victim. This also builds pressure in the brain, leading to severe headaches. The Henkai then move through the bloodstream into certain parts of the body, forcing them to either shut down or cause an extreme amount of pain.

LinkHowever, this disease is highly contagious not just because of how easy it is for the Henkai to infect you, but the mere emotional reaction to watching someone suffer through the final stages of Henkaplis disease is enough to trigger an emotional response strong enough to activate the Henkaplis in your brain.
Symptoms:
Severe hallucinations of one’s worst fears.
Will often change a specific aspect of the victim’s personality. This is because the Henkai will do anything possible to force the victim into more emotional responses and force it to suffer, so it can feed off of it some more. For example, a usually calm and headstrong person will become erratic and confused. A cheerful person will become negative and cynical. This can also trigger emotional responses in those close to the victim, seeing their personality change so rapidly. This, in turn, triggers the Henkai in their own brain, and the cycle continues.

LinkIf left untreated, it will begin to physically alter the victim’s body and physical form, and small cracks will begin to appear in their skin. These cracks themselves are not what kills the victim, but instead the risk of infection and the fever that comes with it.
