Uh so you were sitting on a pier, watching the sunset, alone like the single person you are (Love you) and you heard a voice. The voice lured you further, and further until you were off the pier. You were caught in a daze, lost and in the water. You could see a figure swimming up to you. It grabbed you by the shoulders. You could only see glowing eyes, staring into you intensely.

(OMG HIM AGAIN 😍) She watched as the figure caused a sudden burst in the water. She watched as it struggled, falling beneath the water. She swam towards it, realizing it was a man.

(HE’S ACTUALLY SOO CUTE HONESTLY) She watched him struggle from afar, racing to him to grab his arm and swim ashore. She held him by the wrist, pulling him through the currents and waves.

She began to panic, she didn’t know what to do, neither did she want to be seen. After a few seconds of thought, she did what she’s seen before from the deep blue waters. She placed her mouth on his and blew air into him. She felt awkward doing it, but it had to be done.

She heard him, her eyes flashing with horror. She was quick to return to the water with a splash following her.

She peered from under the pier, she’d never seen or interacted with a human

She backed away slowly, her eyes staring directly at him

She swam closer to the light, allowing a better view of herself. “i know, it’s my fault you even almost drowned though..”

“my voice..”—She pointed to her throat that was adorned with purple scales—“I’m part siren, part mermaid..” Her tail could be seen in the water, its bright color shining through the dark-ish waters

She looked at her surroundings before she swam out from under the pier. Her scales shimmered under the evening sky. “many would say I’m a monster.”

She didn’t know what she felt but her heart fluttered at the compliment. “t-thank you..”

“I’ve never been, I don’t think I can. I’ve heard of tales of mermaids going on land and magically getting legs but I never tried.. Either I die or it actually works..” She rested her head on her hands as her tail splashed the shallow water. “I could always try, but like I said, I’ve never tried.”

She gazed at him. He was stunning. “so…I didn’t get your name, what is it?”

“Seo-Yoon..” Her dark eyes stared at him. “You’re beautiful..”

A small smile played at her lips. “It’s fine, don’t apologize, love.”

“How?” Her eyes widened a bit in surprise, a small flush of color rising to her cheeks.

She swam closer to the shore, close enough for him to reach her. She could be fully seen from where she was. Her purple tail was long and adorned with scales in many shades of purple. Her body was adorned with scales as well, from her waist, to the tips of her fingers, there were scales.

She smiled, a quiet laugh coming from her. “It’s fine, continue talking, love. I enjoy hearing you talk.”

“It’s okay, I understand.” She thought back to some of his earlier words. “Why did you want my hand exactly?”

“It’s fine love, I don’t understand what’s pretty about them but your hands are pretty too” She smiled, pointing to his hands

She frowned but understood. “Alrighty, I’ll see you whenever I do Dae-Joon!” She waved to him, heading back to the deeper waters.

She swam up to the shore another day, hoping to catch sight of Dae-Joon again. She didn’t know why she wanted to see him again, something just pulled her to try and see him

She saw him ashore, quickly swimming towards the shore. There were more people out today, it’d be risky to go so close to show the shallows.

She popped her head out of the waters, spotting him from the beach.

She swam closer to the shore, making herself more visible to him. She waved back to him happily.

She watched him stand. The pier was empty and like they’d met the first time, it was evening. She swam towards the pier, popping her head up again to get his attention.

She nodded, a big smile on her face. “I wanna sit on the pier but it’s too high off ground.” She frowned

Her eyes lit up. “Yes please”

“Woah” Her eyes were wide. “This is cool” Her tail was now in full view, not hidden by any water.

She smiled. “Thank you, it’s not that big of a deal though. I’ve had it all my life.”

Color rose to her cheeks. “Thank you.”

“I like you too, you’re amazing as a person.” She smiled

“You are, you’re amazing and beautiful.” She blushed

“Oh, I apologize for that love.” She apologized. “Can I see your hand?”

She intertwined her fingers with his. “Your hands are strange, but they feel nice!” She played with his hands.

“I’ve never felt a humans hand before..” She continued playing with them until she noticed him. “Are you okay Dae-Joon?”

She turned her head towards the right, a mannerism she had when she was confused. A little hum out of confusion came from her.

A blushed rose to her cheeks. “You’re hot..”

“Very much enough”

She noticed him lean in. Without knowing what to do, she followed suit, leaning in as well.

A blush rose to her cheeks. She never felt something like this towards someone. “W-wh-wha-“

She hummed, her cheeks warm. “Why may I ask?”

“Together?” She parroted

“I wouldn’t mind” A small, shy smile adorned her face

She didn’t reply, only keeping her eyes on her sternly.

She grabbed her wrist, taking her to the shore quickly before she drowned. She hated doing this, people lurked to the waters after hearing her voice often, and many drowned.

She placed her limp body on the shore, her eyes staring at her in worry. What had she done..

She watches in horror as she sits up, swimming back into the water with a splash following her. She swam under the pier to keep watch on the human.

She hid under the pier, her eyes burning a hole into the girl’s headfrom under the pier.

She watched the girl look for something. After a bit of further examination, she noticed her shoes were missing. She ventured under the water, finding them. Now how would she be able to give them back..?

WELCOME BAACK) She tossed them onto the pier, quickly and swiftly to keep from being seen.

She popped her head out of the waters, looking at the girl. Purple scales adorned her neck

She nodded shyly

She nodded happily

“Seo-Yoon.. how about you?” She looked hurried, looking around at their surroundings

She shook her head. “I just don’t want to be seen by others, only select few see mermaids or sirens..” she trailed off. “In a matter of fact, I’m half of both.”

“Sure” She shrugged. “My mom’s a siren, my dad’s a mermaid.. more of merman. It’s kinda weird but I got the vocals chords of a siren from my mom. My tail also..” She showed the girl her tail. “It’s not like most mermaids, mine has those random extra fins or whatever. It’s just like some sort of fancy decoration, I’ve never understood the extra fins purpose.”

“I mean..” She lifted her tail up.

(IT’S FINE IT’S TRUE) She chuckled, nodding along. “It is pretty”

“I wish I could be a human.” She sighed. “Everyone wants what they don’t have, that’s life.”

She nodded in agreement, a small laugh coming from her mouth.

“Yeah, there’s different types too. There’s Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic, etc. The cities are pretty though, they’re made up of coral and finding underwater.”

“Yeah..” She saw the sun setting. “I should probably go, the sun is setting and I’ve gotta get back down there.”

The next few days were quiet, she hadn’t seen Cecile on the beach in a bit.

Her head popped from the water, a grin on her face

“It’s fine, I’m not able to come up every day anyways.”

“Hmmm” She hummed. “Life as a mermaid is pretty much like a humans life..I think? It’s just doing daily things, only underwater.”

“Same color as my tail.” She pointed to her tail.

“Hmmm.. I’ve always heard of these like cat things, but other than that, jellyfish.”

“Could you?” Her eyes lit up, sparkling with adoration.

Her eyes were full of curiosity. “Please bring the Biscuit Sir Timothy”

“Deal!” She grinned

“Alrighty, sounds good! See ya tomorrow Cecile!”
