Entry 1:
I have always been the unlucky one. While Kai and his friends found skinny queenfriends (girlfriends) like Violet, Thulian’s queenfriend, and Ruby, Kai’s girlfriend, all I got was a fat queenfriend named Magenta.
It was sad, really.
She ate a lot. Like, 3 fish for midnight snack. 2 for afternoon snack. 10 for dinner, 7 for lunch, and 5 for breakfast. Magenta’s favorite food was fish.
I couldn’t keep up with her, so with fake sadness, I called it quits and recommended her to by friend Indigo, who was even plump then her. They went along well.
“Dude, what you writing?” Kai asked from across the room, snapping pictures of his ripped chest probably to send to Ruby.
“Oh, nothing, just homework.” I replied quick as a cheetah.
“What, there was homework?” Kai eyes widened, and he set his phone aside. “How come I didn’t know?”
“I don’t know.” I said blankly. “E-extra?” I smiled nervously. “Credit?”

Link“O-Kay—“ Kai started.
“kAiiiiiiiiiii!” Ruby called loudly from the door of their dorm. “DID YOU FORGET ABOUT OUR DATE?”
“Be right there, Ruby!” Kai responded, shooting a very sympathetic cat face at me. “You’re glad you’re single. Enjoy it.”
“Enjoy what? Crying over you missing your queenfriend’s face?” I said sarcastically.
“No, man, you can do ANYTHING you want! Without a nosy girlfriend sneaking checks at your phone to see if you’ve followed any hot girls on social media.” Kai balanced a backpack on one shoulder. “Be free, ya know?”
He was kind of right.

LinkRuby poked her head in the doorway, her smooth light red-pink hair brushing against the wall.
She was wearing a ruffle pink skirt and a top that left little to imagination.
“Hey Umber, you and Magenta want to come? Thulian and Violet are coming too...”
I blushed and Kai shot her the “look”.
“...er, I mean... do YOU want to come with us?” She twiddled her dark pink paws.
“I guess?” I cringed.
Ruby beamed—too brightly to be real—and the sound the keyboard on her phone rang loud and clear.
“Come on,” Ruby scoffed, tugging on my arm. “COME ON!!” She shouted when I resisted.
Eventually I let her pull me out of the room. That queen was energetic, I’m not gonna lie.

Link“Um...where are you two going anyway?” I asked cautiously.
“Um...where are you going with this?” Ruby threw my question back to me.
When she saw I looked confused, she sighed. “The bar, silly, where else?”
“R-U-B-Y!” Kai hissed through his teeth. “S-H-U-T U-P...”
Ruby glared at him.
“...B-A-B-E.” Kai finished.
Ruby rolled her eyes and ordered me and Kai to move it down the stairs of campus, then directing us into her bright red sedan.
She danced to the front seat and the engine whirred.
As we pulled away from the curb, I peeked from behind her seat and saw her pull out her phone.
As far as my naked eye could see, she was setting a route to Chinese Coors Light, a trending bar on social media. Instagram especially.
What was I getting myself into?

Link“Hey...Umber?” Kai whispered. “Um, I’ve been meaning to tell you...”
“Yeah?” I was only half-listening.
“Well...Ruby’s setting you up.” Kai finished, his tone so low that if I weren’t right next to him I wouldn’t have heard him.

LinkSuddenly I didn’t even know what to say.
Inside, I panicked. I wasn’t even wearing one of my nice shirts! I was wearing a sweater vest over a white polo! Okay, that’s a nice shirt, but still, I was wearing jeans. If I was going to make a good impression on whoever I’m going to meet, I have to dress nice.
Outside, I stayed calm and gave Kai the “look”.
“Bro, what do you mean?” I said coolly. “I haven’t dated since the “incident”.”
“But man, this might be an opportunity for you!” Kai argued. “What if she’s really hot?”
“Kai—” I started.
“We’re here!” Ruby announced over enthusiastically, shattering our thoughts of hot girls and the “incident”.

LinkI gulped and let them drag me out of the car. We waited at the front of the bar for Thulian and Violet. A few minutes later, I noticed a purple dress and a familiar rock band shirt in the crowd.
“Thulian! Violet!” I yelled, waving my arms to make an impact.
The dress and rock band shirt started over to us.
“Hey dudes! And dudette!” Thulian purred, slapping us both on the back then giving Violet a small hug. “How are y’all?”
I pulled him away from the girls.
“Yo, Ruby’s tryna set me up.” I said in his surfer language.
“Really dude? That’s bomb!” He chuckled. “You needa getta good chick who’ll cook for you and is a dang good kisser. Ha!”
I rolled my eyes and we went back to the girls.
“Okay, everybody’s here.” Ruby said excitedly. “Let’s gooooooooo!”
We went inside the bar and it was louder than it was outside! We got a table close to the blue-haired bartender and ordered some drinks.
“Yo, let’s go crazy!” Thulian laughed, fist-bumping Kai.
“Yeah bro!” He responded.

LinkThey started shotgunning beer and joking around. Ruby and Violet were more sensible, though. They ordered some bloody Mary’s and started chatting nonstop about the girl they were setting me up with.
“Is she hot?” Violet asked in awe.
“Of course!” Ruby responded. “She’s really pretty. I met her in school a few days ago. She just moved here from Cattington and her parents want her to snag a boyfriend.”
Her parents were in on this two?! Wow, this was gonna be exciting.
After a while of drinking and making out, the two couples sent me to a private room where they said my new Queen friend would be.
I rolled my eyes but listened to their instructions.
The room was in the back of the bar and it was pretty cool.
It was right next to the wine room so you could smell all the scents.
Suddenly a slender arm ducked out from a door and grabbed me. I was pulled inside a dark room.
“Are you Umber?” A beautiful voice whispered.

LinkI haven’t even seen her face yet, and I was already in love.
“Yes-s.” I stuttered.
The light flicked on and I was met with beautiful blue eyes staring into mine. They pulled back and I saw all of her. She has gorgeous brown fur and the most attractive smile I have ever seen.
“Will you marry me?” I blurted, thinking out loud.
“Excuse me?” She said, looking taken aback.
“Nothing,” I smiled.
“I’m Julia.” She said sweetly, blushing. “A girl from my class said she was going to set me up with a cute, submissive, nerdy, and sweet guy.”
Me?! Nerdy?! Ugh, Ruby was going too far!
“Yeah, that’s me!” I said nervously.
“This might be too fast, but can I get you a drink?” She asked shyly.
“No,no, I can pay for it.” I said quickly.
We fought over it before she finally gave in and I bought us both cans of soda, since funny this, we were both non-alcoholic!

LinkJulia and I talked for ages about, well, everything! She was so easy to have a conversation with.
By the time we stopped opening our mouths, it was way past 12:00 and the bar was getting ready for it’s early morning customers.
We went outside and sat down on a bench.
“Hey, Umber,” Julia blushed. “You’re so sweet, you know? Will you be my kingfriend?”
“Yes!” I laughed, raising her up in the air and swinging her around before leaning in for our first kiss.
(If you haven’t know already, in their world, girlfriend is Queen friend and boyfriend is kingfriend)
